I've been to Bookcliff Gardens twice. First in 2021 or so, plants did not grow well and I went to Mt Garfield after that. But this year they had some varieties of things I wanted so I decided to give another try. At checkout, noted aphids all over veggie starts, they tried to put a positive spin on that. (These were not veggies that typically attract aphids, so they must have an awful lot of aphids for these to be colonized with them). I had someone take affected plants back to exchange for healthy ones (of same plants). I did not reinspect, figured they would be capable. I left, got home a few miles away, then realized the new plants ALSO had aphids (and, as it turned out, mites) AND were not exchanged for the same varieties I had bought. I called and was credited back for one free plant. Since then, I did plant them, have used the sprays I am comfortable using, but the plants from there are not very healthy and are small and struggling still a month later. Other plants I bought at Mt Garfield are all doing well. All have been treated the same, same soil, etc.
I am a long time gardener and have used nurseries in several states and different Colorado cities. Never had significant issues before. This makes twice from Bookcliff, and I will never purchase from them again. Place looks nice. Plants are MUCH better at Mt Garfield, if they have what you want.
