It was an amazing experience. I gained insight as to why I did some of the unhealthy things I did in my past, and that insight then helped me fugure out where the emotions were coming from and what I can do about it to help the situation and keep my self respect rather than do something that may feel better in the moment, but make me feel far worse about myself later.
