I've been coming to the GPI for 22 years and one of the highlights has always been dining at the Blue Ridge.
More recently however the restaurant has changed. They used to offer a terrific ala carte menu with my favorite eggs benedict/ Now, there are no ala carte offerings available at all.
Either you get what the buffet offers or you go without. Unfortunately that means you get hard toast, overcooked and cold sausage and breakfast potatoes, and nearly stale biscuits, with all the offerings in warming trays for who know how long. The only saving graces are the cooked to order omelets, the fresh coffee and the view (which, thankfully, they cannot change).
I am very disappointed in the direction the GPI has taken with the Blue Ridge.
As a guest I can order the eggs benny on the room service menu but they always come cold. Why on earth I cannot get them at the restaurant any longer is beyond me.
I've begun to simply bring my own fruits and pastries and eat in the room instead of paying the premium for a mediocre buffet.
The service is meh. They serve you coffee and juice but still expect a full service tip? And either they are over your shoulder constantly or you can't get their attention at all. Unbelievable.
