Upon admission I had a little information on what to expect, but when I actually got into my room and was settled in it was way more than I expected and even better compared to three other facilities that I have been in. All of the nursing staff members have been kind, courteous, and have shown love and compassion and interest in my well being and recovery as far as my medications, dialysis, physical and occupational therapy, wound care, and nutritional needs. Everything has been more than phenomenal!! All of my doctors, surgeons and wound care specialist have been amazing as well, they keep me thoroughly updated on my progress and treatment plans - which shows me that they really care about my recovery and returning back to a normal and healthy living... Wound care needs and dialysis treatments were my main reason for admission and both departments were great. All departments made sure I was comfortable with the treatments and had a good understanding of them. I wish I could remember each staff member by name so that i could thank each and everyone of them for their kindness and love shown towards me these last few weeks that I've been a patient. I really do not want to leave, but unfortunately all good things must come to an end. Von, my case manager, has been working extremely hard to find the perfect transitional facility for me and my healthcare needs!! At this facility my doctors came to visit me every single day and never once did they make me feel like I was an inconvenience when I had a lot of questions - especially Dr. James. Probably the only bad thing about this hospital is the food - the limited selection was not very appetizing. The therapy teams were also great, they kept me comfortable and motivated me to want to be in therapy everyday, even when I was tired from dialysis and not once did they try to push me past my limits. Overall kindred bay area treated me well and if I had to return I would do so because the staff truly showed me that I was important and cared for.
