I ate at the Blue Belle last night and it was really good. This is probably my fourth visit since the new management took over and each trip has gotten better. They definitely have traction now.
The service was very professional and friendly. I ordered the sirloin steak special. The requested medium rare was spot on with beautiful grill marks. If I was an instagramer I would have definitely taken a picture of it.
For sides I took a chance and ordered Green Beans and their cheesy rice casserole (might have the name wrong).
Both were fantastic. I am never happy with green beans, restaurants always over cook them and use terrible processed beans. Their beans were clearly fresh. They tossed in some red onions and just let them kiss the pan. All the flavor and snap was still there. 10 out of 10. I will order them again. Bravo! it is so rare to find them done right.
And now for the hero I never saw coming. The cheesy rice casserole side . . . wow. I am a decided carnivore so sides are usually just in the way of the meat to me. But this was really good. I honestly think it was the hero on the plate. Chad, the owner said it is a family recipe. You have to try it. Really good.
And finally free beer! You read that right. I ordered an ultra and it came ice cold in a frosted pilsner glass. When my glass had a inch and half left the waitress (sorry didn't get her name) reappeared with a second chilled glass and a smile. Both were free! You heard me, FREE!
How is this not the buzz of the town. People will give away onion rings to sell a beer, but I have never heard of anyone giving away beer to sell onion rings.
I will definitely go back and would recommend to a friend. By the way if you're a baptist they will give you a free soda instead.
