I chose Dr. Shapiro because of his great 5 star reviews. Experienced the absolute best consultation I could have ever wanted! I felt great about my choice initially. He took the time to sit with me, look at my concerns in a mirror etc. On the day of surgery his office called to ask if I could come an hour early. I could not as I lived out of town and was traveling to be there at our originally planned time. When I got there for pre surgery prep he seems short with me and rushed. I figured this was his surgery day nervousness? Following surgery these are the complications I have experienced. 1. A hole opened behind my ear where he had sutured. I am still waiting for him to repair this hole.2. The skin on my neck appears loser than before surgery from before and after pics I have taken, with large lines and a big dimple under my chin the skin does not lay smoothly or naturally. 3. I now have a large double chin when I tilt my head downward even slightly.4. I have met with him several times over the last 8 months to discuss concerns. He is dismissive, defensive and down plays concerns. I regret spending over 10K on this surgery as the results are not what I expected! He has a beautiful office but beware his staff does not communicate well even with eachother. I had expressed my concerns to his nurse on several occasions and when calling to discuss further she would indicate that she did not remember the conversation and had not made any notes about the concern in my chart. My neck had very minor sagging prior to surgery that I wanted to correct. People normally guessed me to be 10 years younger and I wanted to do this surgery as more of preventative to keep from getting worse. I will most likely need additional corrective surgery in the future but I will not return to Dr. Shapiro for this correction. I work in the heatlthcare industry and am very disappointed with the results and how my concerns have been treated.
