Customers Beware
For me, being lied to automatically leads to a one-star rating. However, being lied to was not the only issue I had with my recent visit to La Blanc’s Southside Motors. It’s astounding how a business that has seemingly been around since Stevens Point became a city can continue to stay open running it the way I’ve seen it run.
So where was I now… Right, after over two months I still have not received my saw. He was going to have surgery on Friday and so my saw may be delayed even a bit longer. Okay, well, a couple weeks later I stopped in, (at which point it was well over two months since I had originally stopped in) and I see that he had the saw sitting in front of the desk. I said “you must have my saw fixed”. He says “yeah, I tried calling you before I had surgery”. I said “well, you must not have left a message”. He didn’t have a response. Why on earth would you not leave a message? To this day, I don’t know if he really called or not. Anyways, he replaced the carburetor and after looking at the bill I said, “so, are you going give me a discount for the long wait?”. Supposedly he had already given me a good break on the price… Then I said, “so, didn’t you say you’d call me if it was going to be over $100?”. While scurrying around to look at the tag, he replies “well, I didn’t write it down”. Good grief!
Needless to say I won’t be back there again. He lied to me, had poor customer service, and took FOREVER to have the repair finished. I took it home and it started up fine, but ran it for five minutes and it died and won’t start again. I refuse to take it back, and will tear it apart myself to try and fix it, or take it elsewhere.
