I bought a used Subaru Legacy from this dealership. Before I bought the vehicle I noticed oil and grease and a bad oil burning smell on the test ride. So bad it stung me and the road test salesmanship eyes. I asked about this. The salespeople took it into their service department to check it out and assured me that everything looked great and if anything was wrong I had a dealership warranty of 4 months to get it fixed plus I had a extended 2 year separate warranty.
After buying it and driving it an hour home I immediately knew something was wrong when the interior was filled with oil smoke. I brought it to the mechanic in my home town and had an inspection. Cv joints and headgaskets were shot!! I immediately called the dealership to have them fix it to which I received 10 different run around excuses. Finally after going in and talking to them in person, which I had to drive two hours out of my way, missing work, they sat down with me. They refused to pay for everything and tried to get me to pay, to pay THEiR service department no less. I was furious. They offered me a trade in which was half the value of what I had bought and tried to make me spend money on a newer car. I must have talked to five salesman, two to three salesman, and all the mechanics. They pretended like it was all "acceptable wear and tear", to quote their words. They all tried to convince me I was crazy for wanting a ride that didn't leak and wasn't fully operational even tho they assured me it was a "200,000" mile vehicle with no problems originally. After 3 hours of talking to them with no success, no luck talking on phone, and weeks of runarounds I had had enough. I got a lawyer and two months later finally got it resolved.
In short, I do not recommend you trust the sales staff, service staff competency or honesty. Please read your legal paper work carefully and understand key words like wear items and such. I would recommend a wide birth from this dealership. Such a horrible and taxing experience.
