I was a coach for two seasons , upon returning to the third season I was planning on coaching again, after attending numerous coach meetings and receiving a roster with my name as coach on it, I was told that I would no longer be a coach and that the head coach was going to have his two friends, who did not have children on the team, to be his assistants. One of the men never showed up to a game or practice. The other did not bother to introduce himself to the parents, a red flag when working with kids, and he quit halfway through the season. Throughout the season the team struggled to make any sort of improvements on performance and had a extremely tough losing season. This was in part to the coaching but also because of the stacking they do on their teams. Of the four Minor League teams ours was the only one that did not have a board member or president of the league on it. It was clear in our roster of almost all rookie players, with my son and two others being the only returning players, that this was a set up. When I was required to finally step in and assist in coaching after being told initially I was not needed, and our team actually defeated the one of the board members teams in a tournament all of a sudden he was asking for a background check on me, a black man, and not any of the other white parents assisting on the field. I have had many background checks performed for the organization so they are aware I am safe to coach. Finally after I asked why me and not him (another parent helping), he corrected his mistake, that I was very ready to sue over, and asked us both to have one. At this point i just wanted my son to play and have fun so we just finished out the season and no surprise numbers are down again as i and many others have left im just heartbroken that they would treat people and children in the community in such away go see for yourself 4 teams 2 will be stacked.
