Several years ago, my Dr advised me to get a therapy dog and after a long search I found Mariah, an 8 yr young Shelty who had lost her Mom. It was love at first sight and little did I know that I was the one being rescued. Mariah was full of unconditional love and became my constant companion. The doctors in the clinic were always there for my worried p calls at any hour. As the years passed Mariah began to show the toll that time takes on us all, always ready to go for a walk and help Mom get through the hardest days. Finally time came for that decision that all pet parent dread. The staff at St. Francis did their best to make making the right choice as easy as possible, but saying goodbye to one so full of love is never easy. I believe that Mariah would not have had as many comfortable years had it not been for the staff at St. Francis and I thank them for their kindness and understanding. I hope they let people cross the Rainbow bridge when the time comes for me to take that walk.
