Dangerous treadmills 12/17/2014

I have been a member for more than 3 years primarily to train and running. In that time I noticed the condition of the machines have been getting worse and worse and just now 1 of them almost killed me. I'm not even exaggerating. To start with, half of the treadmills are hooked up to a power system that isn't rated for the machines. That's a code violation right there, but more importantly the treadmills shut off randomly which isn't safe. I complained about that multiple times over the past year and I have yet to see it fixed. Just 2 weeks ago I complained again after I almost put myself, and I was told they would look into it and then tonight they said no 1 else complaint so they didn't do anything. Well, after 10 seconds it's off again. That wasn't the most dangerous part though. Since these weren't working I tried some of the other machines. Two of them actually got enough power, but the speed of the belt randomly changes. One of them was just a bit bad so I tried the other and that one stuttered so badly that it almost threw me off the machine. When the belt speed changes randomly between 10 miles an hour and 2 miles an hour and speeds up constantly that's going to trip you and tripped me backwards. I'm tall and I would hit my head hard against another machine right at hard edges if I didn't catch my balance in time. I complained about it right afterwards and all they would do is put a little sticker on the machine. Didn't even power down to put some kind of warning in place. Obviously they don't care if anyone guys at the gym. I asked when they would be fixed or if they would be fixed and the guy responded as if you was annoyed with me and said that he doesn't work in maintenance. Really? This place is far too dangerous for anyone. more
