Not a spa. Not really. 11/2/2014

Recently several of us (myself included) visited this establishment for updated haircuts (styles). First off, they are located off to the side of the Baby's R Us strip mall which was just a little difficult to locate. The first impression upon walking in was that it was very clean, they had attempted to decorate but it was very small. It appeared they could only accommodate perhaps 3-4 clients at a time in the chairs. Down a corridor I did notice a massage table and a clean restroom, and there was a tiny manicurist station. We did not have to wait long before they were ready for us. We communicated what type of cuts we would like and the stylists were very nice and accommodating at first. When I was moved to the shampoo chair, it was uncomfortable and the water was cold. The stylist also was roughly using her fingers and nails to wash and separate my hair. Also, the ceiling view was not relaxing at all with a lack of ceiling and exposed wires. She made small talk and she seemed nice enough but the entire experience was hair torture! She rushed through the process, yanking, pulling, and ripping out my hair. I could hear the hair snapping. One of the other patrons I was with commented later on how she was watching my stylist grab chunks of hair and yank it. Needless to say, I came away very sore. I would not exactly bill this as a spa. Not really. There isn't anything soothing or aesthetically pleasing about this hole in the wall. Their product line is small and so is their ability to accommodate clientele. In the end I give Extravagance 2 stars because it was clean and safe and the prices were not unreasonable but in all honestly I've had a better experience and cut at the beauty college. We would not recommend or return here. more
