I went in and made my final payment but the receptionist told me that the manager I had spoken to only an hour ago had stepped out and was not there. She assured me that she knew of the circumstances as she was privy to the conversation we had. She took my payment, assured me it was final and that they would cancel my membership.
1 month later I get a charge on my credit card for another monthly fee. When I called Marietta and re-hashed the promises they made me they acted like they had no idea what I was talking about. I was told that I would need to come back into the gym and cancel in person. I drove to the Marietta gym and went through the whole scenario AGAIN only to be told that they don't accept cancellations on weekends AND that I needed to go to the Roswell gym.
I finally had enough, left work early that following Monday, found the incredibly still hard to find new location, went inside and officially cancelled my membership. Here is is 30 days later and I receive an email from National Fitness saying that I owe another $35.00 to them because the contract states that I have to pay 30 days before cancelling. The Roswell location NEVER mentioned it to me when I signed the cancellation paperwork...EVEN THOUGH I asked them point blank if there would be any additional charges after that day.
This company makes it very difficult to deal with on every single issue you have. I even called National Fitness directly to tell them that I was not informed of my pending 30 day payment and the VERY rude account manager who answered my call told me that I needed to read my contract.
Do not get involved with this gym or chain...you will regret it!
