Let me start by saying that I have been a repeat customer of “Nissan World of Denville” and have leased three vehicles from this Dealership including the one I leased approximately three weeks ago.
I walked in the showroom with a promotion that I received via U.S. mail from this particular dealership. A nice young man approached me and my family and asked if he could help us. It became quite apparent through our conversation that he was new to his position. This young man was eager to help us and make our experience a positive one, and quite frankly, because of this young man, we didn’t walk out.
I presume it was the assistant General Manager and the General Manager that we actually negotiated with. Before I get into that, let me stress that there was no support from other associates or management for this new sales associate. In fact, I overheard who I presume was the assistant GM speak down to and inappropriately to our sales person, that I even took offence to his tone. I guess the rule to “criticize in private” and “praise in public” doesn’t apply to the dealership of Nissan World of Denville.
Moving on, as we explained to the sales associate what vehicle we were interested in and informed him that the car I drove there was leased from this dealership, he asked for my keys so he could check out the car and get the mileage. When he returned, he went into the management office where the assistant GM asked for the keys.
Eventually, the assistant GM came out to us, didn’t introduce himself, sat down and told us that our monthly payment would be substantially more than we are paying now. At that point my wife and I explained that wasn’t an option. We asked for our keys so we could leave and he totally ignored our request. He got up and went back into his office where he talked with who I presume was the General Manager. He returned, and asked us where in price do we want to be? We told him, and he said he couldn’t make the deal for that price. Again we asked for the keys, and he got up and said he would go and
