My family LOVES the subs at Paynes. The price is very fair for a sub sandwich, chips and a drink. The bread they use is awesome, very fresh and completely different from what you see at other places. We really don't order pizza from here becasue we enjoy the subs so much instead. My children have on occasion ordered the spaghetti and said it was just ok.
My only complaint, which others have also mentioned is the staff and even the owner are 75% of the time, just not in a good mood. We have only ate at the restaurant once and will never return because we felt very uncomfortable and unwelcome. We usually just call and order our food and then drive and pick it up ourselves. Even with the very little interaction in doing this, you still walk away feeling like you should apologize to the staff for interupting their day. We still continue to order the subs we really do love them but honestly not as frequently as we would if we were shown better customer service. Sadly, I think this place has a wonderful product but unfortunately they are diluting it by simply not treating their customers with respect.
