We felt like we did our homework before selecting Warren Montessori. Boy were we surprised!! Everything we were promised during the tour and our meeting w/the director were lies! They run their teacher student ratios at the state limit, which isn't what we were told. In our short time there, communication between us and teachers was non-existent! From 3-6 it is very much a traditional daycare or worse. My child seemed bored and pouring rice into bowls all morning is hardly Montessori training. Sometimes they wouldn't have any gym or playground time when it was hot, rainy, etc they promised the kids were getting exercise twice daily. I observed one day and it was extremely hot. The kids didn't go to the gym until 4:15! During their "Montessori" time in the morning I saw two kids who sat there and did nothing but stare at the beans they were suppose to pour into a bowl. The teacher never noticed that the two kids were completely un- engaged. The teacher then had the kids sit in a circle. She was having kids count. I was shocked that most of the 3-4 yr olds couldn't count to 10. The entire feel of the class was awful! I quickly understood why my Sweet child came home cranky and irritable everyday. I could barely stand to watch the class let alone be part of it everyday. Everything I had been told was not how the class ran at all! The kids looked bored to death. For the prices they charge they should be able to hire quality teachers and have a strong curriculum. If for some reason you think Warren is where you want to send your child, at least observe a full day here and at other schools. You'll see a huge difference and won't go here!! I'm a strong believer in Montessori but what I observed what a pitiful excuse for a daycare, not a true Montessori school.
