My daughters dog was lost. 7 days later the dog ends up at Paws in Lynwood. The dog was microchipped and from Lynwood PAWS originally, but the microchip had an old number and it wasn't updated. Our mistake.
The shelter received the dog, kept the dog for 10 days then adopted him out to a new owner, without even checking their own Lost dog reports, which is what they told us to fill out when we wen there before the dog arrived. Granted we stopped checking everyday for the dog assuming it was gone. We should've kept checking, I know now. Then they sent out a flyer saying they have the dog, but by the time the mail was checked, the shelter had given the dog up. Then the supervisor calls the new owner who wants $400 for an apt. Pet fee, and the shelter wants boarding fees an medical fees totalling $645! Kay Jubert is the worst supervisor I have ever dealt with. Abrasive and rude, just like the other employees who should and probly do clearly only speak to animals. NEVER will I recommend PAWS. No wonder the counties are pulling their contracts and support. The dog came home ps...after the $400 randsome was paid to supposedly the people giving up the dog. Who knows they wouldn't let us give it straight to them...for such an important service, they should pull it together if they actually want to help animals.
