best vet hands down 3/11/2011

I have a 4 1/2 lb toy fox terrier who was viciously attacked by my Jack Russell. She has a very small neck and was ripped clean through to the muscle. She also had a deep wound across her back. She had 23 stitches. He took her in on an emergency in Palmyra and he kept her for a week and then he brought her personally to Harrisburg for me to pick her up. She was in very bad shape and he did not think she would live. I would call in the morning and in the evening and the staff told me they were back holding her and cuddling her. He may not be the gentlest doctor to talk to, not exactly a people person, but he is an excellent vet with many years of experience. I also had a Jack Russell I took to his Palmyra office on an emergency when she was having trouble giving birth to her puppies. Two vets worked on her that night and gave each of us a puppy to hold and massage to get them to breath. We were right there to see the whole thing. They were wonderful. One of the puppies didn't make it but it was my fault for not taking her in sooner. A few years ago I had a female Jack Russell with an enlarged heart which Dr. Clements diagnosed. I was upset and in disbelief and I took her to Dauphin County Animal Clinic who diagnosed her as not having a heart problem. Well, let me tell you, my Jack Russell died on the way to the Emergency Clinic in Mechanicsburg because she DID have a heart problem and they could not take care of it. I was stupid to not listen to Dr. Clements. I own 6 dogs, 2 birds and 2 cats and they were not my regular vets, but they are now. So, anyone who does not take advantage of the abilities and experience of Dr. Clements is a fool. more
