Our experience at Stork vision was less than desirable.
Stork Vision is owned and operated by person who speaks in broad general terms that can be easily misconstrued by expecting parents.
My wife and I were led to believe that it was possible to get 3d and 4d imaging at approximately 23 weeks.
While this is true, but not guaranteed (repeated often by the owner), the images, in fact, will be nothing more than that of a skeletal figure.
The imager was kind and explained to us that at 23 weeks that there was no point to imaging because at 23 weeks all you will see is a skeletal figure. This conversation came up because the Imager was confused and asked to know why we came if we already knew the sex of our child (little girl by the way :).
After learning this we kindly asked the owner if we could come back at a later time so that we could get images of our unborn child with some recognizable facial features that appear around 29-33 weeks.
The owner then proceed to inform us that she was going to keep 45$ of the 125$ that we paid because we came to the appointment. Yet, even though we came to the appointment no sono-scans were taken and no services were rendered. The owner knew that we were 23 weeks from the beginning.
We tried to reason with the owner that we did not understand what the imaging package would yield nor what was the expected image quality at 23 weeks.
The owner finally agreed to not charge us 45$, since no services were rendered, under the condition that we come back and pay for a larger imaging package. The 125$ was not returned but retained as store credit.
On the surface it appears as if the owner took this event to be an opportunity to get us to spend even more money.
We are really upset at the prospect of asking for our money back but it appears that this is the only way to avoid thinking of this less than desirable experience when we look at images of our child in the years to come.
