I purchased two tables here which looked like antiques and were labeled as original antiques. The sales lady who helped me confirmed that they were indeed antiques. I'm not sure how she would really know unless she is an appraiser herself but she stated that the merchandise was labeled accurately so I purchased the tables. A couple of days later I decided that I only wanted to keep one and sell the other so I got an appraisal to estimate the selling price. To my horror and disappointment the appraiser told me these two "antique" tables were not antique at all but reproductions and worth far less than what I paid for them. He gave me a letter of appraisal after which I contacted Pacific Galleries immediately to let them now what happened. The receptionist said she was very sorry about what happened and asked me to fax in the appraisal letter after which someone would contact me within a couple of days. I faxed in the letter in right away and waited for a response which I never received. A week later I called again and the receptionist confirmed they received the appraisal letter and apologized again and said someone would be contacting me within the next couple of days. I then asked to speak to a manager or the owner and she said they were not available and that she would give them my message. It has been 3 weeks since I contacted the auction house and faxed in the appraisal letter and still no word. I am now seeking legal action and disputing the charge. I do not recommend this business at all as they do not stand behind their merchandise and mislabel their items.
