My check engine light came on on my way home to San Diego, so I got off and found my way to Honda of Santa Monica. Howard Rice quickly and courteously processed my car. I agreed to pay $105 as their standard fee for diagnosing the problem (not bad, since they apply it to the cost of repairs).
About an hour later, they informed me that the gas cap hadn't sealed properly. I thought: "figures!" but he then said they weren't going to charge me a thing! 5 minutes later, I was back on the road.
I was very impressed. They had every right to charge me for the diagnostic services, since it did take time and effort and they were very busy.
If I ever break down in LA again, you can bet I'll bring my car here!
