In October, this vet told us our cat was "borderline" kidney failure.
In December, after the cat did not recover from a cough, and was losing weight, they confirmed kidney failure with a test and exam. They provided us with special food and IV fluid kits.
We have been nursing our kitty ever since. He has just about every symptom there is for kidney failure, and now it's time to say goodbye - he's suffering badly. I had heard that we could get a sedative to give him before we brought him in to be euthanized. So we called.
They said no. We need to examine him un-sedated, and see if there is more treatment. Our kitty is dying and they just want to examine him. I want him to stop hurting and to not be scared.
The cat will die in the next few days. Just how we'll get it done, I don't yet , but not at this vets office.
