Service Dept Scam 2/21/2010

Good: Cadillac of Norword had been servicing our 2002 Deville DHS for 7 years. The car had roughly 22,000 miles on it.. Bad: Nov 2008 the car was brought in for service prior to shipping it to Florida. The service department claimed the found an oil leak and the repair would cost over $5000.00. Funny they said that because it must be a case of the invisible oil. The car is garaged inside an there was zero signs of leaks. The service manager explained that a car that is not driven typically exhibits these problems. Funny they serviced the car yearly andit is driven daily abiet no more than 5 miles a day. Cheat their customers.. Improvements: Honesty, Loyalty, and Appreciation Keep in mind service consultants managers have a pay for performance bonus structure in addition to their salary or hourly wage. This is a case where mechanically naive patrons get burnt. I told the service manager that he was full of it and raised my voice so that all the other patrons could hear that they just attempted to scam me, so they too could question their frivolous charges.. Other: Moral of the story: The car is no longer serviced at Cadillac of Norwood and anyone contemplating buying a cadillac is advised to avoid Cadillac of Norwood like to plague and recommeded to contact Herb Chambers because our experience with our Lexus has been exceptional. To be on the safe side we have had our vehicle serviced at two different shops since. Both shops were informed of the issue Cadillac of Norwood claimed and both stated that if they weren't mistaken they oblivously trying to scam you.. more
