Good: The male dentist that fills in for Dr. Hammer when she is on vacation is wonderful! He is the BEST dentist I have ever had - very gentle, kind, caring, and great at what he does.. Bad: Dr. Hammer! She is very rude and mean for no apparent reason. Not only is she the meanest and most unprofessional dentist I have been to, she is probably one of the meanest people I have ever met. I called and asked for something for pain to go with the antibiotics I was given for a badly infected tooth(blistered gums, fever, nausea & vomiting & severe pain from infection)she questioned me about everything from what I do for a living to what happened to the pain meds I was given (continued below). Improvements: from a previous extraction (umm I took them for the PAIN!!!!!!!!!!) After questioning me for 5 minutes, she said in a very rude and disgusted manner that she "doesn't know about this" and is going to have to "do some checking around" and will let me know if she'll call me anything in. At the time I was dumbfounded and couldn't understand what in the heck she was talking about (I really thought maybe she was having an 'episode' of some sort), then after I told my family what had happened it hit me (cont.). Other: that she was accusing me of being a drug addict and the "checking" she was doing was calling pharmacies to see if I was a drug addict, I presume. After 4 hours she called me something in (I have only had 2 prescriptions in the last year and they were both for a tooth extraction so she realized I wasn't trying to get pain meds for no reason). Needless to say, I have never been made to feel so low in my life!! I would not recommend her unless you like rudeness and humiliation when you are in horrible pain!.
