This place is a hometown staple. I live in Chicago now, but always try to stop here when I'm passing through, as do my siblings who live all around the country. Don't expect 5 star fare, but enjoy this place for what it is - a local hangout where you can see everyone from every walk of life. It does not look like your standard franchise place, so don't expect cookie cutter decor, but you will find nice people and good comfort food. Try the fried chicken - it is worth the calories!
