Richland County offers many recreational areas for you to take the family or just spend some time outdoors. In town, there is Kingwood Center, a public garden and house for you to spend peaceful Sunday afternoons admiring the striking plantings, feeding the ducks or just enjoying the sunshine. Don't forget to visit the Greenhouse. There are bike trails in town, picnic areas that feature historic an Historic Block House. You can visit the old Reformatory, which is open to the public and featured in the movie "Shawshank Redemption". There is a Ski area locally. Mohican Park and Lodge features hiking trails, picnic areas and a lovely lodge with a bar and restaurant. The Miss Ohio Pageant is held every year at the Renaissance Theatre, there is a Symphonic Orchestra and a Playhouse. There is also an excellent Library worth mentioning. There is lots to do here, much to see and places to visit. Richland County has much in the Playground, Parks and Trails area worth noting. more
