Mansfields Cultural Center 7/26/2005

A piece of Mansfield history, the Renaissance Theatre is home to the Mansfield Symphony and the performing arts in Mansfield. This is a lovely, old fashioned theatre, very acoustically designed. This was originally opened in 1927, built by the Warner Motion Picture Company who saw Mansfield as a large center to draw movie going customers. It has since become home to the Symphony Orchestra, the Miss Ohio Pageant and concerts and plays. It was fully restored in the 80s and serves as a symbol of the importance of this area to the general public for a center of the Performing Arts. The prices are perfect, having come from New York and knowing what they charge there for Symphony performances and theatre productions. It is very affordable and the performances are first class. Check out their website at www.rparts.org for their current season lineup. You can also order tickets on line. Note that parking is on the streets, but the parking lot behind the Holiday Inn is available for closer parking. A lovely theatre, very affordable and a piece of culture in Mansfield. more
