Very Poor Customer Service!!!! 12/9/2011

Went to lunch at the downtown Zuppa today. The customer service was horrible! I will not be returning. I asked for the pasta chicken without mushrooms. When the food was ready it only looked half full. The guy cooking it said if I would have ordered mushrooms my dish would have been full. Really?? That's the right answer??? It was my co-workers first time at Zuppa (her birthday weekend and I was trying to get her to try something new). There were no lids for the pop cups, the guy behind the counter fussed with her about getting a side of salsa and he threw her food on the counter. When she asked for her food to go in the over to be toasted he said "he doesn't put food in the oven for re-makes" . What?? If the customer wants their food in the oven to be toasted... just do it. What is the problem. Finally, upon leaving we noticed the salsa was still not in the bag. The other guy behind the counter said" what is it now?" when she asked for salsa. Oooooh Weeeee..... Customer Service 101 might be helpful for Zuppa staff. I'm just saying. more

Tasty and filling 10/30/2006

We like to eat here for lunch. A warning for vegetarians, though, they cook their meatballs in their marinara sauce. I suggest ordering the "pizza" which is pizza sauce and cheese piled on their hugely thick bread. more

Editorial
  • The Soup
Zuppa means "soup" in Italian, so naturally it's the featured menu item. Italian Wedding Soup is served every day--this version looks more like matzoh ball soup and doesn't contain pasta, but is still good. Two other soups are offered daily, and one is usually vegetarian.

    And More
Sandwiches are made with fresh, soft ciabatta bread. Hearty choices include grilled Philly subs and chicken salad. All include a side of pasta salad. Entrees include chicken parmesan served over penne pasta with a salad and bread.

    Vibe
Counter service, with a wide open kitchen so you can watch your lunch being made. Located in the lobby of the Borden building, Zuppa is bright and modern with yellow and purple d?cor.

    What You'll Spend
Soup is a bargain at $3 per bowl. Sandwiches are all $4.95, and pasta dishes are $6.
