Best

I enjoyed a very, very good breakfast at Zeppo this past weekend. Simple, almost provincial egg/meat/veggie dishes; busting with flavor and, most importantly, stomach filling. I'm...

I've been to Zeppo a few times and you think I would have learned by now. I really try to like because I like the location of the restaurant - they have great outdoor tables and i...

Very nice experience! 8/5/2007

We just moved into the area and have been trying all the recommended restaurants in Lake Oswego, West Linn and downtown Portland. We visited Zeppo for breakfast (before hitting the farmers' market 30 yards away) and everything was very tasty. Italian-style eggs benedict was surprisingly good! The coffee was better than most chain coffee shops. We tried lunch a couple days later. Again, very pleasant vibe and great dishes. We'd highly recommend it to others! Pros: Great food, great service and lovely atmosphere! Cons: None! more

Poor Experience 4/8/2007

From a restaurant we considered one of our favorites, over the past two years, to last Saturday night's experience this may have been our last. The restaurant took a reservation for our party of 4 and when we arrived they confirmed it. We then waited 35 minutes past the reservation time while they seated others that came in after us with no reservation. We commented to the hostess about the delay and she then informed us that the reservation shouldn't have been taken for less than 5 and we shouldn't have been able to make a reservation in the first place, in other words it was our fault. The night got worse as the salads came and halfway thru the salads our dinners were delivered. Comment from the waitress was ""sorry to cut you short but your dinner is ready"". After two years of bragging about how good the food was, as well as the service, our dinners and service were not up to the previous standards we had come to enjoy so much. Our party of 4 was very disappointed and we don't plan on returning. Goodbye Zeppo. Pros: Nice bartender Cons: Poor hostess', more

One word ""Delish"" 10/25/2006

We go to Zeppo probably 3 times a month and drive all the way from Vancouver. They have phenominal Food and Great Service! We are always treated like Kings & Queens when we go there. The Ambience is very Romantic. My husband loves the Pasta dishes, Jalapeno Garlic Shrimp in particular. I love all of it. We have never been dissapointed. After you are done eating, you can go for a Romantic walk on the lake as it is just a few yards away. We love it! Keep up the great work!!!!! Pros: Excellent Food! Great Service! Cons: The food is too good and you can't stop until it is gone. more

Great from start to finish! 10/25/2006

I was there with my girlfriend and we had the best experience ever! The server whose name was Jeff was a great guy. He was very attentive to our needs. He knew just when to come to the table and when to let us be. In addition to the wonderful service, we also had a terrific meal. I had the Jalapeno garlic shrimp pasta. Wow did that ever have great flavor. My wife had the Flank and Crab Grill. She was very pleased as well. We drove here all the way from Salem and would highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for a change from the same old same old downtown. They also make wonderful desserts! more

Very poor customer service 8/31/2006

I have been two times...the first time the food and the service was great. I took a group of 6 there based on that experience. What a disapointment! The food was good, but the service was one of the worst I have experienced. The waiter not only gave everyone the wrong meal, he left it up to use to try to figure out which was which, and totally forgot one of our deserts! He was so unfriendly....to the point of being rude. I was very embarrased. We ran out of wine, he never checked back to see if we wanted more. When I went to talk to the manager I was informed HE was the manager....with so many other good restaurant choices in town my advice is to avoid this reataurant! more

A second chance .... 5/11/2006

Being of Italian decent I had high expectations, but my spaghetti and meatballs, the staple of Italy, was very disappointing. I don't recommend it. The cesear salad lacked punch and it seemed it could have been fresher. Perhaps some of the other entrees are better. I'll give it one more shot, but that's it. The ambience was great and the curtained private booth's very nice. This initial visit was a disappointment. I'd give it a 5 on the 10 scale. There are far better Italian restaraunts in the area. Pros: Ambience Cons: Food more

Classy, Comfortable, Inviting 1/21/2006

I went in on a weekday evening with a friend, and we had a great dining experience. She'd been there before numerous times and recommended it to me. I had perhaps the best gnocchi I've had in years. The decor is wonderful, whimsical yet classy, the waitstaff were second to none, and I will definitely go back many times. more

A great place to eat fun Italian food 1/20/2006

Tuscan stew and seafood pasta!! Wow! Very tasty meals at quite acceptable prices. Pros: Authentic foods, Friendly people, Good parking Cons: Too few desserts more

zeppo 12/20/2005

Zeppo actually means ""packed"". ""Crowded"" in Italian is ""Affollato"". Anyway, Zeppo's is neither if you go early (before 5:30PM). Great food. Great place! more

Fantastic 10/21/2005

We have had the delight of many meals at Zeppos, and have shared it with a lot of friends. What a great find in LO. The food is always fun with lots of daily dishes. Try the Lemon Chicken its great plus the daily pasta. Its fall again and Im looking forward to the Pumpkin Ravioli. The Staff is Great especially Reeser (not sure how to spell her name but she is amazing. Pros: Reeser, Staff, wine list is fun Cons: no reservations for 2 more

Loved It! 9/26/2005

We tried Zeppo for the first time and will definately be back! Some friends told us to go and we were very pleased. The food, the drinks, the service- it was all good. Try the Lemon Pasta and the Halibut! Pros: value, service, atmosphere more

I was very impressed 9/21/2005

I was visiting some firends in Portland and they took me to Zeppo. I wish we had restaurants like that back home! Excellent food and reasonable prices. I liked the wine selection, too. The owner even came by to see how we were doing. Classy! Pros: Delicious food, Nice service, Classy design more

fabudelish 9/18/2005

ZEPPO, How did you do it ? They created the best menu, food and service and put them in a beautiful space in downtown Lake Oswego. The staff may very well be the most pleasing in the business and the food has always been great. Everything on the menu we've tried has been incredible. We will keep going back too Zeppo. Pros: service, food, ambience Cons: non more

Great food and atmosphere 9/18/2005

Finally, somewhere in Lake Oswego for a nice dinner in a very hip yet comfortable environment! We love Zeppo whether it's with the kids or just my husband and myself. Pros: Atmosphere, Food, Convenient more

Food is disappointing 9/1/2005

The food was pretty disappointing given the price. The portions are generous but the pasta was severly overcooked and the other entrees weren't very tasty at all :( For the kind of prices that they charge there are lots of better places to eat. The location is nice and the restaurant is pretty nice as far as the decor, but the food is so disappointing that I won't be back. One last thing - the food isn't very good there lol more

NEVER AGAIN! 8/7/2005

Staff is rude and one has to seek them out to place an order or to be seated. Food is inconsistant, changes every time I have ordered. Food sometimes comes uncooked (try your child's meal if you don't believe me!) I have tried to supporty them, but have been consistantly disappointed (the only thing there that has been consistant!) After ordering and paying an x-tra $4 for shrimp and only getting 2, well I am tired of being ripped off and I would rather support local eateries that deliver, give out condiments, silverware, and napkins Pros: outdoor seating Cons: rude staff, under cooked food, no consistancy more

I've Never Been Back 6/9/2005

We had dinner at Zeppo and were very excited to sample the new kid in town. Unfortunately the chicken was dehydrated space style chicken (too long under the warming lamps perhaps?). As in I mean completely inedible. I watched my date eat...thought about complaining. Decided that I didn't even want to expend the effort due to the small portion of chicken I was dealing with. So we left and I haven't been back. Won't go back. Pros: cute atmosphere, prompt seating, good parking usually Cons: dehydrated food, distracted waitstaff more

Love this place! 5/21/2005

I've been to Zeppo several times now. The atmosphere is comfortable with soft lighting, the servers are efficient, freindly and helpful, the food is GREAT and the prices and very reasonable. I'll definitly go back again. Pros: service, food, atmosphere Cons: the bathrooms more

How Refreshing! 1/30/2005

My husband and I dined at Zeppo for the first time last Friday evening and we will be going back! We felt comfortable from the moment we walked in when we were greated by a gentleman, who we later found out was the owner. He immediately made sure we were being taken care of and our 20 minute wait went by quickly thanks to the 2 young, but friendly and funny hostesses by the door. The atmostphere was much more relaxed and sophisticated than the pretentious Tucci restaurant up the street. Additionally, our stuffed chicken dishes were excellent and a great value; a great recommendation by the owner who causally made the rounds throughout the evening. It was refreshing to see an owner taking the time to make sure his patrons were happy and not needing for anything. Overall, we highly recommend Zeppo and are excited to go back! Pros: service, value, food more

Excellent service, unexpected treat 1/25/2005

We came in from Florida late at night, looking for a great meal. Unfortunately all the restaurants were closed or closing. The owner of Zeppo gave us the last table of the night, and if that wasn't enough to impress us, the food was amazing. We had a Tuscan Stew that was so good, I wanted to take extra home with me so I could enjoy it the next day. The Pollo e Orechiette (chicken with artichoke hearts) was really tasty too unusual, but certainly something to have again. The whole experience was positive. Well be back next time were in town. Pros: Friendly attitude, Quick service, Tasty food more
