I did a lot of research before trying this salon. My stylist Heather gave me a gorgeous cut with a style that really works. It's stunning if I may say so. Most telling is that I can reproduce the style equally well at home. I am pleasantly impressed. The atmosphere was tasteful, professional and cordial with a lot of effort put on customer service. As important to me is that it seems very tidy and clean. My stylist tried really hard to make me feel special and pampered. Zee's Salon...a little piece of heaven here in Roanoke! Great staff! Great atmosphere! Great services! My daughter, who is pregnant (our first grandchild!!) and I went recently for a manicure/pedicure...what fun! They had us in these amazing chairs where we could relax and talk (mostly laugh!). We really felt pampered with 4 technicians taking care of us...and we left feeling and looking good! I've gone there for years...the experience is truly THE BEST. Friendly, professional staff who work hard at making sure your experience is memorable and fun! I recently saw an article in the Roanoke Times...the owner (Zee Ritter) and her staff did a complete makeover and SPA day for a recent graduate of Bethany Hall...The story tells you not only a lot about the salon, but a lot about the type of caring people that work there. I also chose this salon due to the advertising of it being one of Roanoke's best salons. The atmosphere is very nice, my stylist herself was very courteous, the salon owner, however, was pushy, brash and took over the whole process. My color turned out horrible (truly truly horrible) and the salon owner even made a couple snide remarks. I ended up paying $250.00 for a horrible job, being insulted, and pressure sales. I'm normally happy if you just get a decent color and cut, not too hard to please, but this was for a special event, and I was extremely disappointed. I will neither return, nor recommend this to any of my other discerning friends! In general, this place is a ""rip-off"". BTW- I overheard several stylists complain about the owner, and likely the good talent that is there, doesn't stay long due to being treated that way. I first went to Zee's because I had a gift certificate and I had always wanted to try it out. I was extremely disappointed. Pros: Atmosphere, various services offered at one place, nice hair highlights Cons: Unfriendly staff, unknowledgeable staff, Not listening to customers needs more

An advertisement in the Roanoke telephone directory for Zee's Salon states they are ""color specialists,"" so I made an appointment for hair-color services. I had a consultation and I carefully explained to the stylist the hair-color I wanted, and I showed her two photographs of the desired color -- strawberry-blond. The color that I received was light brown! Needless to say, I do not recommend this salon for hair-color services. Cons: Expensive more

I love this place! Their prices are reasonable and they're very professional and friendly. They massage your leg from the knee down during a pedicure and my legs felt like jello when I tried to get up. It was wonderful! They also have a great product selection and an atmosphere that makes you feel like a Goddess. They even remember my name when I come in and I don't go that often since I moved out of state, but I go whenever I can. They also have a great selection of services to choose from. I highly recommend them for an afternoon of luxury! My hairstylist there even gave me her home phone number in case I have a ""hair emergency"". Now THAT'S service!
