KC's Most Unremarkable BBQ 3/11/2010

In the Pantheon of KC BBQ, Zarda's is the storm cellar - you only go there if in dire peril. Their meat has virtually no discernible smoke taste - why else do we eat BBQ??? Zarda has a fairly loyal following, and I mean no offense, but these people simply don't know what BBQ is supposed to taste like. Zarda is the Fritz' Chili of KC BBQ. You may like it, but that ain't what it's supposed to be. more

Very Good 11/9/2008

I had zarda's at my husband's company event. It was so good that I had to eat it again. Their beans are the best in KC area and the BBQ really good! can't wait to go again. Pros: The food Cons: Staff are teeny boppers more

Good Tasty BBQ 8/14/2007

The hickory smoke greeted us, and friendly counter help. My cousin says that they are a great caterer -- we just had a dine in experience. The salad bar was fresh looking (man cannot live on bbq alone). Free refills, that's a plus.\r \r The chicken was awesome, the smoked sausage was really thin and outstanding. My brother said his brisket was lean and tender - something he stops in for every week.\r \r There were a lot of sauce options, but we didn't try them all... we did like the onion rings and their cheesy corn. When my brothers come in from San Diego, or parents from Yuma, Az. they all ask for Zarda's. Plus every Mothers Day I usually send her a ""care package"" from Zarda's Pros: Just good ole ribs Cons: Not hot on the ambience more
