I am currently a tenant of Zara Realty. I have lived there for quite some time now and am very satisfied with everything they have to offer. From the moment i stepped in to view their apartments I knew I'd be happy to join as a tenant. Their buildings are well kept and the staff is great. My super is friendly and always there when needed. The building is equipped with cameras to ensure our safety and this brings me such piece of mind. The rent is affordable in these very hard times and I am able to balance a good budget with it. Each month we have exterminators come in and the heat is very comfortable. I am very satisfied and would definitely recommend them to others! more

i moved in at 166-07 hillside ave when the building was not beiing mainted and george took over and turned the place around. i met with him a few times, he completely transformed the lobby added a tv in the lobby and painted the walls back on my floor. the washers now work and very convient for me since its on my floor. i was thinking of leaving queens a few years ago from this building but he made the place soo much improvements its now a joy saying that i live there more

me and my daughter rented an apartment from them and it was the worse mistake of my life, for two bed rooms i was paying $ 1700, seem reasonable right? then i was having financial difficulty. so I called their ""office"" and told them i would be a little late. so they said no problem. next thing you know i was receiving notice for $2500, after being only 6 days late. apprently $1700 was only a discount if I paid on time. they evict us on a cold January after being only one month behind. they sued me for $ 19336 for a broken lease. They also sued for damages that didnt exist, my daughter also got sick because she accidently ate rat feaces from the pest in the apartment. more

Lived in one of Zara's buildings 18 years ago with no heat, no hot water, mice, and ROACHES!!!!! From the recent reviews it looks like they are still up to their old tricks. more

I live in 18735 hillside building, and trust me when I say this building is infested with roaches and rats, yes slimy fury rats! First of all their management is so rude, especially after you have signed their lease. Its like they are giving you a huge favor, instead its opposite. These guys leave no opportunity to dig deep in your pockets. A tenant who recently moved out told me, that these guys charged him for 15 years old stove and refrigerator for the price of a new one. Interestingly I found out that two bedrooms these slimy people are renting, used t be one bedroom in previous management time, about 7 years ago. These guys are nothing but thugs operating from offices. Take pictures before you rent, if you have to, and take pictures when you leave. more
