This company hustled us.
The manager at Zap Termite And Pest Control and his field technician came on strong talking about their great introductory rates and satisfaction guaranteed for jobs well done.
Unfortunately as soon as they had a signed contract and my credit card, the honeymoon was over.
The technician did ""exclusion work"" on our home, which involves using wire mesh to cover any hole large enough to admit rats. We agreed on a charge of $329 dollars after he drew up a detailed map of the places he'd wire on all sides of our house. He also promised to do a thorough job on the gaps in the eaves of our roof.
Later I walked around our home to inspect his work. Not only had he skipped three of the holes he'd identified on his own map, he left DOZENS of sharp chunks of wire all over our property. Some were the size of my palm or nearly as long as my arm. It was as if he'd tossed every spare bit of wire into our landscaping rather than bother to put it in the trash.
So I climbed onto the roof myself. Within minutes, I found FIVE gaps where the technician hadn't done any work at all. In another hole, he'd quickly stapled some wire in place but had done such a poor job that the wire mesh had already popped away from the shingles.
I fixed this patch myself, then went about doing the rest of the exclusion work on my own. I estimate that the technician did two-thirds of the work he'd agreed to do. In the meantime he left us with a giant mess.
Anyone who's this sloppy isn't someone you can trust to do acceptable work on a regular basis... and after we fired Zap Termite And Pest Control, they hit us with a ""cancellation fee"" of $53.
We knew there was cancellation clause, but we'd contracted for expert, dependable service, not slapdash jobs by someone looking to get in and out as fast as possible.
Zap Termites And Pest Control is all about the money, not good service or building good business relationships.
Do yourself a favor and find a company that's interested in fulfilling their responsibilities instead of banging through as many jobs as quickly as possible to rake in the service charges.
