Best sushi I have had in years!! 12/3/2008

I am a HUGE lover of sushi and I am always searching for new and better places. I live in the Naperville area and have seriously tried almost every single place I can find and this is by far the best yet. I ordered the spicy tuna that I get every where I go because if they can't get that right I don't expect anything else to be that great, and it was awesome. I also ordered the firefighter and the pink lady and those also where amazing!! I decided to order a side of the Asian fried rice and i am glad I did. This was truly the best rice I have ever had, the pieces of avocado and the tomatoes and onions that were on top made it. And this was all ordered for takeout. If your in the area you have to try it. It's just a couple minutes away from fox valley mall. Pros: Best sushi around, awesome fried rice Cons: nothing more

Great Steak and Sushi 12/3/2008

My experience at Zaidi's was excellent. Our server was very knowledgeable, friendly, and attentive. We started off the evening with some cold sake and sushi. We ordered the Fire Fighter roll, which is a combo of spicy tuna, jalapenos, spicy scallion and another kind of tuna. In any case, it was unbelievable and the size of the roll was very generous. For dinner, I ordered the Marinated Kobe Beef Flat Iron Steak. The steak was so tender that you could cut it with a spoon. It comes marinated in a soy teriyaki sauce with wasabi butter. They should add that steak to the things you need to eat before you die. My wife had the Maine Lobster with Beer-Battered Pablano Peppers. The lobster came topped with an avocado salsa and creme fraiche. I've never seen my wife eat so fast. She loved it! We were too full for dessert, but we did order another Fire Fighter roll for the road. I should have mentioned that, on the way in, we noticed that the bar was very full and they even had live music. We had a great night and I can't wait to get back and have more of Zaidi's sushi and that awesome Kobe Flat Iron Steak. Great food and great service! Pros: Great sushi, great menu selections and great atmosphere Cons: nada more

You've Got To Go To ZAIDI'S! 12/1/2008

I found about Zaidi's by reading a review in Naperville magazine. The restaurant is towards the southern area of Naperville, which is off the beaten path a little if you're coming from the city (Chicago), but well worth the trip. As soon as my wife and I arrived at Zaidi's, we were promptly greeted and shown to our table. The restaurant was very busy, which is all the more reason to make a reservations. We started our meal by ordering their signature cocktail, The Geisha. To say it was great would be an understatement. Zaidi's offers a large selection of Sushi, both traditional and exotic. We decided to start with Toro-Sake, which is a tuna roll that is covered in salmon tartar and an avocado sauce. My wife also ordered a bowl of Lobster Bisque which she said was ""to die for."" I opted for the Mojito Shrimp Salad (another winner). For my main entree, I ordered the pan roasted Alaskan Butter Fish. I am not big on fish, but the couple at the next table over told us we had to try it. So that's what I ordered, and boy was it amazing! My wife ordered the grilled pesto marinated shrimp. It was the most beautiful dish that I have ever seen at any restaurant (too pretty to eat - but that didn't stop us). I was served with a mango/black bean/avocado salsa. I tried one of her shrimps and all I can say is that's what I'm ordering the next time we go back to Zaidi's. By the time we got to dessert, we were both pretty stuffed. But after looking over the dessert menu, we decided that we couldn't leave without trying at least sharing one of the selections. We ordered tropical carrot cake, which was fantastic. The service at Zaidi's was phenomenal. The owner (Mr. Zaidi) even stopped by to see how everything tasted and to make sure that we were happy. I can't say enough about Zaidi's other than it's our new favorite restaurant and I can't wait to go back. If I could give Zaidi's 10 stars, I certainly would. Pros: The variety of the dishes and the incredible sushi Cons: None that I experienced - just a little off the beaten path more
