Great Place for Authentic Thai Food 10/19/2009

My family have been dining at the Yukol Place restaurant for the last 13+year on the regular basis. We love everything about the place from food to the great service. We love the corn and fish cakes, beef salad, Seafood Kra Tiem, hot and sour Potak soup, any kind of curry, and Fried Banana with Honey. This place is absolutly a great get together for a large party as it provides atmosphere for it and the service is great make you feel comfortable. Pros: Great Food and Reasonable Price more

Great, reasonably priced Thai food 4/13/2007

Whatever Yukol might lack in ambiance due to its unfortunate Lombard St. location, it more than makes up for with fantastic food and friendly, fast service. The dishes consistently combine fresh ingredients in great sweet and savory combinations, and I've always been impressed with the quality of meat in their dishes. I have never gone wrong trying one of their specials, either. Lastly, it's cheap, especially for a popular Marina place. Try everything. Pros: great food Cons: location / ambiance more

Best Thai in SF! 11/16/2006

Having made the Marina my home, I've walked around and tried many of the restaurants in the area. Yukol Place gets my vote for best Thai for sure. My chicken panang was thick, rich and came with lots of meat. My Tom Yum was spicy and had lots of shrimp and was very fresh. Their pad thai wasn't too greasy and the chicken was moist. It gets really crowded so I come on off-peak times to chill and enjoy their food. more

Best in Marina - by Far 10/31/2006

Now Open for Lunch! This place is MUCH better than any other Thai Restaurant in the Marina. The food is so fresh and delicious. It's not just a great thai restaurant - it's a great restaurant. Service is perfect, atmosphere is lovely. Don't bother going to any other Thai place on Lombard or Chestnut, this is the one. Pros: Everything Cons: On Lombard so it's one block off Chestnut more

Best Thai Food in the City 10/7/2006

I love this place. Their food is delicious, the place is spotlessly clean, the prices are reasonable, the delivery is super-fast, and the staff is very competent and friendly. Unlike other reviewers, I think the ambience is fine - though I mostly get takeout. My favorites are the green curry chicken, the duck larb, and #24 (japanese eggplant with shrimp and chicken). They also have a really good coconut soup, and the chicken satay is great. Everything is great, as a matter of fact! Pros: great food, spotlessly clean, friendly staff Cons: it's on Lombard Street aka highway 101. But you don't notice that when you're inside more

Been coming here for years 12/1/2005

Yukol Place, simply put, serves fantastic, authentic thai food. I will only order Tom yum goong soup from this place as other restaurants cannot compare. In addition, the peanut sauce and curry dishes are fragrant and delicious. The ambience, while not trendy, is warm and inviting and service is always attentive. I've tried other well-regarded thai joints but they always seem to disappoint (cough...thep phenom). Try it once and you'll find reasonably priced, delicious thai cuisine! Pros: Food!, easy parking, not too loud Cons: none :) more

very tasty! 9/9/2005

We ordered take-out for the first time and were very suprised with the authentic Thai taste. I have been to Thailand and Yukol comes very close to matching the flavors of being overseas. We ordered the the Yellow Curry Chicken, Shrimp Pad Thai, and the Sum Tom. Highly Recommended!!!! Pros: Taste, Authenticity, Price more

High Thai'mes in the Marina 6/25/2004

Excellent combination of spices and food quality in a clean presentation, cut-rate prices, and super fast service make Yukol a top contender for ""best"" Thai food in the city, especially for those who dont want to have drive to the mission. It doesnt have much in the way of ambience...ok, it has no ambience, but the food more than makes up for it. Best of all you can walk to the Grove after dinner for desert and coffee! Pros: Great food, Great service, great prices more

Good Thai Food 9/7/2002

The food is pretty authentic here, but there is definitely better to be had in the city. The ambience s definitely nicer than many Thai restaurants. Pros: Decent Parking more
