Sushi at it's best in Mt.Prospect!!! 9/30/2009

We come from Chicago to eat here once a month bc the sushi is so good and fresh and the head Chef almost always comes out to the table after the meal to see how everything was and to thank us from coming. That never happens when we go for sushi downtown. If you are near Mt.Prospect or Schaumburg you have to check this place out!! you will love their fresh sushi!!!!!! Pros: fresh seafood, great service, upscale interior more

Try it, you'll like it 8/7/2009

Yu Yu Sushi & Seafood, located in Mt. Prospect, IL, is not yet well known, but will become a favorite of seafood diners once they try it. We have eaten at Yu Yu twice and have enjoyed our meals thoroughly both times. Our seafood dinners were moist, flaky and flavorful. The sauces complimented the flavor of the fish nicely. The steamed vegetables were crisp and added a pleasant color contrast to the plate. The portions were ample and the prices moderate. We highly recommend that diners give Yu Yu a try. Pros: Great friendly service, excellent food, moderately priced more

The BEST Japanese food I have ever had! 6/27/2009

This evening myself and my two teenage boys wanted to try something different when we came accross this resturant. The moment we walked through the door the greeter was extremely helpful, and very friendly. He sat us right away and was eager to explain every dish on the menu. The atmospere was great, the relaxing music, the elegant decor, and the way everything came together so perfectly, it was amazing!\r \r All of us decided to go with the four course meal, we chose three different appetizers, that completely blew us away. The crab cakes were excellent, and my son who had the sampler said that everything in the sampler was excellent, fresh and was cooked to perfection. My other son had the softshell crab, which he thought was excellent. Then we each got our soup, the seafood chowder, which was loaded with meat and very creamy. It was delicious! For the entree, I had the Black Rice dusted Salmon, which was the freshest salmon I had ever had, (I found out afterwards that they used the same salmon to make the sushi next door with, so it was very, very fresh.) One of my sons had the Filet Mignon (which was so tender that he was able to cut it using only his fork), and the other had the Pan Seared Halibut, which they both loved. Then, ( because we made a deal with Suki Suh, the executive chef, to swap the salad for a dessert.) Philadough Creme with in-season berries. To put it lightly, I just about died and went to Heaven. It was so large, the three of us had to share what I could not finish, mind you, that the 4 course dinner was a LOT of food. And well worth it! All in all, it is an excellent place to eat, and it has great atmosphere. I would highly recomend this place to everone that I meet! Pros: friendliest service, best Japanese food I have ever tasted more

Downtown Flavor, Neighborhood Price 6/22/2009

I go to Kampai Japanese Steak House & Sushi bar all the time and I heard that they have a new section called YuYu up and running. So I tried it.\r First, I was surprised that it was not a typical Surburban Japanese restaurant where they have sushi menu and some Japanese related items so called fusion menu. It was more than just a Japanese style of cooking. My girl freind ordered scallop and I ordered yuyu sampler for appetizer.\r Scallop was great! it was golden brown broiled and drizzled with citrus dressing to cut down the richness of black truffle mushroom crust and came with refreshing baby arugular salad. Baby arugular salad at Japanese restaurant?\r My sampler was better than hers. 'Cause I had a scallop, sake steamed mussels, homemade crab cake and tuna tartare on a one plate.\r I thought it was a neat idea to have 4 appetizers at once.\r \r My girl freind had a cup of shrimp bisque and I had a salad. Her bisque was very smooth and she found a big prawn hidden in the soup . My salad looked like one from a 4star restaurant in downtown. Mixed green with miso whole grain mustard dressing, candied walnuts, crispy lotus root chips, Fuji apple slices and homemade apple chip! very detailed salad it was.\r \r My girl freind had salmon & I had a black cod. Salmon was dusted with black powder and sauteed. Our waitress said that they toasted black rice & grind it to make rice flour. My girl freind said it was the most tender salmon she ever had. We found later they use the same salmon to make the sushi. WOW! My black cod was broiled with Miso and served with some kind of sweet chinese green beans. Cod was like butter. It melted in my mouth and the plate came with 3 different mini dishes like Bento style. Oh, our entree were served with real crab meat california rolls and vegetables.\r \r It was not the end. I had green tea flavored creme brulee and my girl friend had summer berry napoleon with pastry cream. They were GOOOOOD!\r \r We spent $37 each on our food and plus drink & tips and we were stuffed! We felt like we ate at downtown Chicago with less money. Great food! Friendly service and Nice Price! I will definatly recommand this place whoever wants a romantic dinner with affordable check. We will be BACK!\r Pros: good food all the way Cons: need more customers more

Mt. Prospect and Schaumburg Sushi at it's best 5/12/2009

My girlfriend and I decided to check this place after reading their Citysearch page. I chose the 4 course meal and my date went with the Halibut. My date loved the Halibut, “it was cooked perfectly and paired with a wonderful cream sauce.” I chose the Salmon pairing, Saffron Shrimp Bisque soup, Yu Yu salad, and the Crab Cakes appetizer for my 4 course meal. The Salmon was awesome! Light and easy!! I enjoyed the Crab Cakes with wasabi and avocado, very tasty! Saffron Shrimp Bisque was a delight and something that I have never had. We will be back often and recommend this place to others that enjoy contemporary dinning experiences. Pros: great food, great services more
