Your Family Doktor

I'm a patient of Dr. Hartig's and I love her. Quick in and out of the office. I've been using her for 3 years. However, today I called for my husband. He just switched his insurance over to her in October considering the rave reviews I give her. Today he is sick and missing work. We called to get him in. They had a 9AM appointment until they found out he was a new patient. Then they told me he could not get in until Friday because of new patient. People please....not everyone can sit around and wait for three days to get an appt for a simple see me and give me antibiotics appt that you need immediately. It's ashame because I'm sure he'll never try to use them again. They just lost him and his daughter as patients before even getting started all because they don't have office staff that can think outside the box. I basically begged for an appt stating that I myself was a patient and I convinced him to change over to them. Then we he actually needs a doctor they want to blow him off for three days. My husband will be back to work tomorrow suffering through the sickness but he will be doing it with medicine prescribed by another office. I'm assuming they don't want any new patients here. It's ashame when the little office gets so big they just don't care. I'm considering changing doctors myself now.\r more

Staff is rude and uncaring. They just care about money not the well being of the patient. Staff cares about money, doesn't care if patient is sick. Don't waste your time. Gave this place two chances and they struck out both times. Going elsewhere. Doctors are ok, nothing special, but I know whenever I called to make an appointment the calendar was mostly empty. So that says a lot about the place. (Ppl don't go there) more

I am a patient of Dr Hartig and would thoroughly recommend her to anyone. I have no issues with a doctor's office feeling passionate about healthcare, even to the point of rallying against what they believe will be bad for the patient. As for the critism at people in the office being abrupt at being the victim of 'doctor shopping', again, that time slot could have been used by someone else. I understand that you tried to call but the point is why did you even go to another doctor once you had the appointment? If you were that ill then an urgent care clinic would have been a good place to go don't you think? more

It should be remembered that a Doctors office Is a business and that no one forces you to go there. Thats going to happen when your Obamacare gets running full tilt. As for the late fee, 1, had you stopped at the window that was 2 ft away and told them you were leaving you would not have had to pay the fee. Or even called after you left. I have seen Dr Hansen since about 2001. I make it a point to ignore everything that does not deal with my condition so I dont get offended. Dr Hanson has gone out of her way to help me out many times, and has always been able to make me understand what I needed to understand. I have seen Dr Bartolotti as well, and its the same thing. I feel good with thees guys, they are pros, and will take good care of you no matter your politics. more

I agree with rebecca1970. My family had seen Dr. Hartig for years, and even though none of us are fans of the office staff, Dr. Hartig is always great. But I needed a last-minute appointment because I was in from out of town and fell really sick with the flu and had to take an appointment with Dr. Hansen. Sitting in the waiting room, I noticed that I was sitting across from a posted paper regarding the March on Washington (this was obviously a few years ago). In thick marker, someone had scrawled ""How many people were at the March on Washington? 1 million!"" or something along those lines. Another person, I'm assuming a patient, had written in response in a different pen, ""This is propoganda!"" ""NOT PROPOGANDA!"" the marker returned. ""HANSEN WAS THERE!"" I was particularly perturbed because the talking points of the demonstrators included opposing national or any form of social health care. I couldn't imagine putting my health in the hands of someone who not only felt this way, but felt it appropriate to plaster her political ideology on her waiting room wall (in a tacky fashion to boot). I stormed out of the office and later received a bill in the mail for a ""missed appointment."" I haven't returned because I refuse to pay this fine. It's a shame Dr. Hartig doesn't have her own office. more

I started seeing Dr. Bortallotti a couple of years ago. I have never waited 15 min. past my appointment time. The Doctor has listened to me and has found a life threatening problem that was caused by a prior doctors lack of followup on statin medication. I have moved to NW Houston and continue to drive 40 miles to see her. If she is not availible the other Dr's have taken care of me. In light of the changes in our health care systems I can not complain. I fine the staff is busy but has always taken care of my request or need. She also refered me to a great specialist to treat my condition. Pros: Good doctor more

As soon as I walked into the office she started talking about current politics, I found her comments very upsetting and unprofessional. I went there for a checkup and she was ranting about the president, healthcare, politics and even religion. This went on for over a half an hour. I went for a yearly checkup, she looked in my ears, throat and asked me about medications. Not a great physical and I was upset all day. My husband had an appointment next week which I cancelled. One of her office staff said she had really changed in the last few months and everyone has noticed it. I used to see her a few years ago and thought she was a good doctor but i think she's gotten more than a little radical. I would never go back to her. Around the beginning of July, I was extrememly sick and I shouldn't have even come to work. ...by 8:30, I was on the phone trying to find a doctor. A co-worker had referred me to this doctor. When I called, the girl was quick to say they wouldn't take a first time patient for 3 weeks. When I said I was referred, they asked by whom. When I told them and they verified the person, they said they could get me in at 2. I went ahead and booked the 2pm. Too bad this practice has the typical office management problems faced by many smaller doctors' offices. They have staff who take short cuts and do not really understand the ins and outs of A/P & A/R. Proper registration is key to correct billing but they chose to staff their office with people who do knot know how to follow basic accounting principles or procedures. I have been going to Dr. Hansen for a few years now and I really like her as a person and professional. Her staff is good except for a few select people but they don't ""spoil the bunch"". When she is not available I have seen a few other doctors in the group and they have also treated me well. Overall I have had a pleasant experience and would continue to recommend their services. I have been going to My Family Doktors for several years. I recommend the doctors and the staff to anyone. Each doctor I have seen has been very friendly, comforting and extreemly thorough. I have even had to wait to be seen. The staff are very pleasant aned proffessional. They are very well located also. more

I first went to see Dr. Hansen after a friend recommended her about 10 years ago and she is still my personal physician! She?s seen me thru minor illnesses and thru cancer with the same personal, friendly, matter-of-fact attitude that is lacking in so many doctors; she?s not afraid or unwilling to connect with her patients. The friendly office staff has always been great about insurance claims, appointments, returning calls, forwarding messages, calling in refills and following up with test results. I have been going to Dr. Hansen & the rest of the staff at Family Doktors for years. They accept many forms of insurance, see you in a timely manner & keep up with your personal medical files accurately. They are very friendly & knowledgeable & they always take time to chat out the details of your illness, from pink eye to PAP smears, they have been there for me! more

you just have to experience it for yourself. Tired of waiting an hour to see a doctor ? Go see Dr. Hansen, Dr Bortolotti or any of the other doctors there. You will be called in before you even finish filling up your paperwork. Very supportive doctors and always available when you need them for urgent matters. Pros: fast and efficient service; you will not be there more than 30 minutes. more
