I found some really amazing apartments on York Property Management's website through recent CraigsList postings. I found three that were within my price range, in decent parts of the city, and seemed to look nice. I took my money in for the credit check to be ran on a Friday morning. They asked me which apartment I was looking at, I told them, they looked at their list, and write it down. I got a call on Monday that said ""you have been approved, please call to set up an appointment to view the property at this address"" and they gave me the address. I called and got a call back a few minutes later saying that the apartment I wanted was unavailable as were the other two apartments I had been looking at. All three had been rented and they had none in the price range I was looking for. The gentleman I spoke with told me that the apartments had been on hold and then rented.
Then, I noticed today - two days later - on craigslist that all three of the apartments I had looked at were just posted as well as still on the property management website.
So, basically, they take your money and then tell you the place isn't available...trying to make you go with a more expensive apartment.
