VERY IMPRESSED!!!! WOW WOW WOW! 5/3/2011

Let me tell you ... we love this place (I work for Jackie Zehl & Teresa Lewis of Coldwell Banker United, Realtors in Bellaire) and we always order from here! The Chicken Souvlaki salad is a 100% winner - let me correct that ... 110% winner... the salad is fresh and crisp... with just the right amount of feta, tomatoes, olives...etc... and the chicken tenders are so so moist on the inside yet slightly crisp grilled on the outside... WONDERFUL!.. So, i'm writing this review because today we scheduled two broker's open house luncheons... that's where home's that are currently on the market are held open (usually around lunch time, 12 pm - 1:30 pm for us) for Realtors to tour the property, leave feedback, and enjoy a catered lunch..the lunch is an incentive to get the Agents out.. ;) Today we ordered Chicken Souvlaki for 4 at one property (it comes in a huge pan filled to the brim with a heaping pan of chicken on the side and pita bread slices)...it was perfect! ... For the second property we placed an order for 5 Beef Shawerma's with everything separate so Realtors could make their own Shawerma sandwiches... It was all perfect - Delicious ...except one problem ...it was supposed to come with french fries or rice!!!! Now, I was already at my open house, and the other host was already at her open house... so there was no way we could leave our property and make it to Roadster and back before the Open House began (at 12)... I called up Roadster and not only did they get the order in right away, apologize and were super considerate and professional, but they asked for directions and brought the french fries (huge pan) and a ton of baklava... i guess as an apology gift! It was incredible! This has happened at other restaurants on many ocassions... and never once were we provided such extreme and astounding customer service - they went above and beyond my wildest expectations... The food - the people - their care - everything about Roadster... WONDERFUL, AMAZING, IMPRESSIVE, DELICIOUS, PERFECT!!!! Highly highly very very highly recommend to any and everyone who's got a growl in their tummy! more

Roadster Grill Now Serving Breakfast 10/10/2010

We are ""regulars"" of this outstanding restaurant in Bellaire. From the spaghetti to the burgers to the various Greek specialties, we have NEVER had a bad meal. I was picking up on to go items on Saturday night and Nick, the owner, invited me back Sunday morning to try out the new breakfast menu that kicks off on 10/11/10 and give him some feedback. WOW, was I ever happy to have gotten the invitation.\r \r Nick is offering up a wide variety of breaksfast items from the All-American breakfast burger, to French Toast using challah bread, to Breakfast Pitas to Omelettes. My wife ordered the French toast with 3 slices of bread. It was cooked perfectly and we enjoyed the fresh strawberries. I had the Greek Omelette filled with spinach, mushrooms, onions, feta and Tzatziki Sauce on the side. It was served with Greek Breakfast Potatoes and toast. Let me tell you, this had to have been one of the BEST omelettes I have ever had. It was not all runny and soggy inside like many other restaurants. The potatoes were outstanding, as well.\r \r So...now I have yet another reason to visit Roadster Grill. more

Great Gyros 6/16/2010

The Gyro meat looked machine made of uniform size shape and thickness, but tasted so goods I didnt mind. Great French Fries and Onion rings. Costs 20% less than Niko Nikos Will be a new regular. Pros: Great Tasting Gyros Cons: Still looks like the Taco Bell it used to be. more

The owner was so rude to me, his customer! 1/2/2010

He totally had me shaking, literally, as he lambasted me because he didn't think he should have to honor a $2 coupon that he said the previous owner had issued. He would not let me talk--he talked over me--and when I saw that talking was futile and stopped trying, he went on with his verbal confrontation for several more minutes. I couldn't believe the treatment I received over something so stupid. I have eaten there many times, but will NEVER go there again, not with customer service like that. He was truly a jerk! Cons: The owner was unreasonable and a jerk more

Outstanding 5/24/2009

Had no idea it was this good. Drove by for years. Went for a burger and saw the Greek menu. Asked about it and was told that ""Mom"" made the Moussaka at home for the restaurant. Holy Hummus! the Moussaka was large enough to split and was fresh, tasty and came with a wonderful Greek salad, rice and peppers. I mentioned Hummus. Order Pita and Hummus. Good enough to make a meal out of. Very pleasant service and fast, too. Pros: Best Greek Moussaka ever! Cons: Not across the street from my house. more

Pros: great food, great service, fair prices Cons: not enough tables to sit when it gets packed more

Greasy food. Poor service, rude staff. 7/31/2008

On July 31, 2008 we went to this restaurant. We had been once before and the food and service were good. This time they served us two platters full of french fries so greasy that you could squeeze the grease out of them. The gyro had a nasty watered down sauce on it and the whole sandwich did not taste fresh. The fries were completely inedible, though, so after squeezing the grease out of one of them to demonstrate to the waitress how inedible they were, I asked for a new platter for both of us pointing out how greasy the other platter was, too. They returned one platter of fries to our table. I said we need another. The waitress said, ""If you had told use we could have done two."" Well, I did tell them and then when I pointed out how greasy the other plate was, the staff member said, ""They're fries! They have grease!"" and left the table. The way she said that to me and the overall rude treatment upset me. I told the owner that I had been talked to disprepectfully by a member of his staff. He told me that they had not received any complaints all day about their fries - we were the first to complain. This did not satisfy me and by that time I was shaking and could not eat the greasy meal if I had forced myself. The manager offered nothing to compensate for the bad food or all of the bad manners and was, himself. rude. I told him as we left that we had had a ""poor dining experience."" He just said, ""I'm sorry that you feel that way. \r \r Unless you like grease served on a platter with abuse on the side, I would not recommend this restaurant. Pros: The beverage was cold and fresh. Cons: Abusive staff and food dripping of grease. Don't bother complaining; thy don't care. more

Great Gyro Salad! 7/10/2008

I went to Roadsters tonight for the second time and thoroughly enjoyed every bite. I had the gyro salad, which for the price (around $8) was served with more meat than I could eat, lots of feta cheese, and perfectly baked pita bread. Definitely a great lunch or casual dinner spot. Pros: Great Greek food and Burgers Cons: Limited seating more

Great food, great price 4/11/2008

I went there this evening after reading some of the other recommendations. It was well worth the trip! The place looks like it used to be an old Taco Bell that was painted, so I wasn't sure about going in. I'm glad I did. The food was fresh; I tried the Greek. I looked at others who were eating burgers and they looked delicious! If you're in the area, I highly recommend stopping in -- you will not be disappointed! Pros: Great food and reasonable prices Cons: Parking lot is small more

Excellent Greek! 11/4/2007

So... we went on a clients recommendation and we were happily surprised.\r \r First we tried the burgers (they're good and fast), but then we expanded into the Greek portion of the menu. Every week we're going back and trying something new - but, sometimes we both just stick to the Souvlaki sandwich. Yum!\r \r There are a few nice things to be mentioned about this restaurant. First, it's ""home food"" but fast. And it's not fast food. So, in our case, we're running in between appointments and know we can get good food in a matter of 10 mins. And, you can call your order in ahead of time and use their drive through window to pick it up if you don't want to go inside.\r \r Next, the menu covers all the bases. You've got the excellent Greek food, but you can get hamburgers, philly-cheesesteaks, seafood baskets and a little mexican food (quesadillas) too. And, not to forget, the milkshakes and malts. Did I mention they also have salads and vegetarian dishes?\r \r Now, the place doesn't look like much from the outside, but who cares. It's like the good old days --- not so fancy and you feel like you can sit for an hour and just ""gab it up"" with a friend if you like -- there's no rush.\r \r Pros: Highlight - Good Greek food Cons: It may be a bit too casual for some folks, but not for me! more

Best greek food in Houston! 5/1/2007

Forget the burgers...go for the greek menu. The greek food is the best you'll find in Houston. The pitas and dolmas are excellent. more

Great food 9/17/2006

It looks a little shady on the outside, but don't let the look fool you. Great greek food for a good price. Staff is very friendly and food is fresh! more

drive-thru Greek, YEA! 3/19/2006

Went yesterday on a recommendation. Driving by, I was never sure I wanted to stop, but don't let looks fool you. My chicken pita was so good. YUM. I'll definitely go back....I'd say SOON. Pros: food is delicious, helpful staff, good value Cons: parking lot a mess, not enough to not go more

My Big Fat Greek Restaurant 6/3/2005

Nick has really done something great here. Fantastic Greek food, great burgers and sandwiches, and more, keep me coming back again and again. You can't find homemade Greek food this good for this price, and the serving sizes are great. I also like how Nick always seems to remember everyone who comes in the door. Keep up the great work! Pros: Inexpensive, Good variety, Friendly more

Home Cooking 10/27/2004

This is a great place for a real, home cooked meal. Plenty of burgers (including buffalo and ostrich) plus a menu of interesting specials (philly cheese sandwiches, gyros). Friendly service, personal touch. Pros: Fast, Fresh, Value more

What Happened??? 12/1/2003

I used to come to this place, but now I don't think I'll return. The food was so different; I had a burger and it was so greasy, before they used to be juicy, but not greasy. Many of my favorite items have gone from the menu. The place was so empty and they don't even have cable on the TV. The owner is new, and maybe he was overwhelmed, but he was not very nice. We used to eat there before, but now it's not as good. The fries tasted old and they were cold. Cons: expensive, bad service, not so good food more

THINGS HAVE CHANGED 10/31/2003

The place has definitely changed hands & you can tell. the service is not the same, not as friendly. the new owner does not know how to smile. the food has changed also, the burgers are drier and tougher and they are now pre-made for quicker service. Might as well go to a fast food joint where its a whole lot cheaper. We miss you Cynthia, you did a better job. The colemans. more

AWESOME onion rings 9/22/2003

The very best burger I have ever had. I ordered some onion rings with my burger and I was licking my fingers afterwards, they were fantastic. I took 2 extra orders to go. It was a very good experience thanks to the nicest lady owner there. She was great with my kids, she entertained them and gave them free sundaes. The food is fresh and made by hand like in the old fashioned days. The Reese's shake that I had was wonderful too. It tasted just like a peanut butter Reese's bar. A++ in my book, a definite return soon is called for. Good Job Cynthia for a nice family restaurant. Your fans: the Mathews family. Pros: clean & fresh, great tasting food, nice lady owner Cons: family friendly, lovely patio, old umbrellas, but ok more

Thank You Roadster Grill 8/28/2003

Finally a fantastic burger made the old fashioned way, huge, fresh, top quality and reasonably priced. I'm a regular at the Roadster Grill, and I want to correct some false rumors going around. The place is not going out of business, the owner is not selling, she is still there and has been for a year. Everything is the same good quality as the original Roadster Grill. The place rocks and the food is great. At least the atmosphere is clean and appetising. Thank you Cynthia for a great job! Pros: clean, nice, fresh, homemade, great value, large portions Cons: not enough parking, bathroom outside, sometimes 2 crowded more
