Loved It!!! 1/6/2010

I am disheartened that there are so many folks that have written reviews that did not receive the same kind of service we did at the Yellowtail.\r Upon our arrival we were seated right away, and were given a lovely table for 4 with a beautiful view of the famous fountains. \r Wait service was outstanding and ""good-looking"" might I add. \r Food was amazing, really some of the very best sushi I have ever had!\r After dinner we ventured out onto the balcony of the restaurant and watch the fountains some more. The view from the balcony is so much better then the view from the street ""even if you’re right up front"".\r I recommend Yellowtail to all my friends that go to Vegas and will continue to do so. I have not yet heard from anyone I have recommended that they had anything but the best experience as I did.\r Pros: Spicy popping crab more

Unpolite and bad manners 12/28/2009

We had a party of 6 making a reservation to this restaurant one hour before arrival. After we came on time the table were not set and we were told to wait for at least 20 min. A few couple who did not make any reservation were given the priority of a sit. We went straight in to the table and just started to sit, when a man (seemed to be an asian origin) came to us and start to hassle us with how we were out of conduct, because the table weren't set. We were surprise to see that the restaurant was quite empty and the service was that slow. Added to our disappointment was when this man start to tell us that it was their procedure to set the table before we could come in, then he mentioned a word that was really out of context of customer service. ""Please leave if you do not want to follow our procedure"", this word came out from the man later discovered to be named ""Young Lee"", we do not know if he is a manager or the owner, no matter what status he is, this is definitely not an educated manner and will definitely not an understandable personnel. Within the party were 2 young kids aged between 7 and 10, and they were waiting for a awhile to be seated. Not long after the straight word from this man, we packed our stuff and left the table... This is really not a food review we had not even tasted the food, we really given a taste of bad manners and service from a such beautiful restaurant... Pitiful that it was not well managed... Pros: Nice beautiful restaurant Cons: Awful service, badly managed more

Worst service of my life! 12/6/2009

Atrocious service!! Forgetful waitress, one waiter spilled soup on me while delivering the dish, another was extremely belligerent and rude... The entire staff needed significant improvement. I spoke to the manager twice, who not only failed to resolve the problem and charged the full price of the meal, but informed the wait staff of my frustration during my meal which resulted in worse service. The food that I tasted was decent, but I was unable to finish it due to the way the service affected my mood. Pros: People watching Cons: Terrible service and attitudes more

Great atmosphere and sake selection 9/10/2009

The atmosphere in the restaurant is very modern and has gorgeous views of the Bellagio fountains. I was impressed with the selection of cold sakes, however, hot sake fans will have to look elsewhere. My wife enjoyed her pomegranate martini. They also offer some very interesting sushi rolls. You've got to try the crab and asparagus roll with pop rocks! Pros: Large selection of cold sake Cons: Expensive more

Skip it! 6/30/2009

I have never left a place still hungry after dropping $200 on a meal. This place does not live up to the hype. The food and service is mediorce at best. more

Disgusting. Bad Service.Overpriced Ripoff! 5/31/2009

Let me just say I think I am being more than generous by giving it one star. This was the WORST, absolute WORST, and for those of you who are just skimming and may have missed it... THE WORST PLACE EVER! Overpriced Garbage! I made reservations at Yellowtail for my husband's birthday. He loves sushi and could eat it for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Even though we had reservations, we still had to wait 20 minutes to be seated and the place was not that busy. No big deal there...it happens...sometimes you have to wait. Then there was the food. Becca F. was right in her review...""sushi chefs everywhere are embarrassed"". We order the 7 course chef's tasting menu. After each course I was hoping and praying it would get better. I kept thinking...How could it get any worse? I was wrong every single time. Then we finally got to the dessert and it was bad! How do you screw up dessert? Even the service left lots to be desired. Since we had 7 courses we often watched our next courses take a couple laps around the restaurant before it made it to our table. A few waiters that didn't know their table numbers I suppose. No big deal, until the ice cream was practically completely melted on the dessert by the time it came to our table. The ONLY thing that was good about this meal was the Sapporo and we all know Yellowtail had nothing to do with that. I have been reading a lot of the other reviews on this sight and I wish I would have read them before I went. Here's the kicker for those of you that are still reading...After dropping almost $400 on this crappy birthday dinner we went directly from the restaurant to Taco Bell. My husband didn't eat any Taco Bell because he was full from eating my meal and his meal at the restaurant because he didn't want to waste it at those prices. Now the next morning, as I type this review, my husband is having a hard time trying to decide which end to put on the toilet first because he is as sick as dog from that horrible, horrible horrible excuse for fine dining/sushi. Appearantly, it wasn't even sushi...it was just bad old fish. Taco Bell never sounded so good! Pros: Nice Decor Cons: EVERYTHING ELSE more

Probably not next time. 3/16/2009

I was on vacation with a group of 9 people. We chose Yellowtail as the place to have our formal dinner as a group. Upon arrival, you are able to see that the restaurant is very well decorated and the fixtures and furniture are amazing (of course nothing less would be accepted at the Bellagio)! They sat us at a round table that we all appreciated. However you weren't able to focus on the atmosphere because the hip-hop dance music was playing so loud it was difficult to even talk to the person next to you. (now don't get me wrong - we went clubbing after dinner and hip-hop dance is what were after that nite but with a 5 star level of service the music was really contradictory to the atmosphere). It was also very dark - almost so much so that it was hard to read the menu. We were greeted promptly and presented with the wine and saki menu. They have no warm saki so I chose a cold saki that they were out of. The sommelier was sent over to make other recommendations but it was just as though she was reading from the saki menu, not really making any suggestions or asking me what I had in mind. Therefore on my third try for a drink I opted for a cocktail, but other members of my party got sparkling saki that they enjoyed. Our server was prompt and seemed very knowledgeable. He made great recommendations, many of which we tried. This is not your typical sushi roll restaurant! They had the best albacore tuna and yellowtail sashimi that I have ever eaten (and I have eaten sashimi all over the world). Other members of my party enjoyed the spicy tuna snapping roll - I recommend you try it! The cucumber salad was heavenly with a sesame dresssing. The espresso was wonderful at the end of meal with dessert! I felt as though I was constantly being bombarded with an arm in my face by the staff as they were rushing to get straw and chopstick wrappers out of the way because we were being rushed onto the next course of our meal. Even though we made it clear to our server that we were not going to be sharing, the style of the food service was to be enjoyed by the group and the food was ""auctioned off"" at the table - this was not pleasing when you are trying to carry on conversation and you are constantly interrupted by: ""Who had the..."". If I wanted lunch counter service, I would have gone to a deli. The prices for each dish were very much based on quality and not quantity. Some members of our party actually left hungry (and no one was on a budget). The view that this restaurant boasts about is not as you would hope for. Unless you are a small party of two sitting directly in front of one of the window/doors then all you are able to see is bursts of water periodically. You are able to enjoy the fountain show much more from outside. Overall this experience was slightly pleasurable and never forgettable, the food was excellent in quality and flavor, average in presentation. We probably won't eat there again and most likely won't recomme Pros: Clean, professional, beautifully decorated Cons: Crowded, extremely loud music more

Great Food..Great Service and wonderful view in dining room 2/8/2009

Do not be fooled by the front bar/lounge area. There is a beautiful restaurant in the back with the best view of the Belagio Fountains! Great place to go with a group of people, as you want to order a bit of everything. The Tune eye Pizza with truffle oil was worth the trip alone! The service is incredible. We had an awesome server named Roberto who made our visit memorable and was extremely helpful in assuring our table had food coming plate by plate (and the drinks, you will not go empty here). There was 6 in our party and we ordered about 9 different plates and drinks and gratuity and the bill was decent. This is definetly a place to go to try the food. Not your typical sushi roll place, but anything you order will be remembered. Order the pizza you will not regret it!! more
