Usually love this place but had a so-so experience last time I was there. The food took forever and then came out cold. We sent it back and had to wait another 30 minutes..... Not...

Living almost an hour a away, and hearing all the rants about the great beer selection (they do have by far one of the best selection of beer on tap in South Florida) I really looked forward to the experience. I took the day off, and took the drive with my girlfriend to celebrate my birthday. Yes the beer selection is great, and the menu does a nice job to organize the selections. We went for a midday lunch; the menu has a nice selection of food, everything from sandwiches to full dinners. Upon recommendation from the server we both ordered burgers. My girlfriend ordered the "surf and turf" which was burger topped with lobster. The burgers were a nice size and were cooked to order (hers did have a nice amount of lobster). The food was good, not worth taking the drive for, but good if you live in the area. The service is extremely poor. The tab was fair for 2 Burgers and 4 craft beers it was just over $55. When spending that kind of money on burgers and beer the level of service should have been more attentive and professional.\r \r We waited at our table for several minutes for the server to come greet us, and than she only stated that I will be with you in a few minutes as she shuffled off wearing a pair of crocs. When she did finally come back and take our drink order it was 8 to 10 minutes before she returned with our 2 beers and 2 glasses of water. Not being in a rush, (plan being to sample several different beers) we asked the server to came back and take our food order in a few minutes. At this time of day the place had a nice crowd but only about half full. I finished my beer and glass of water; my girlfriend finished her beer and her water (she drinks rather slow). Now sitting with 4 empty glasses on the table. After another few minutes we finally flag down another server and explain we would like to order another round. Our server appeared after a few minutes and again it was 8 to 10 minutes before our drinks were in our hands. A food runner delivered our food, with no sign of our server we were left to fend for ourselves and to grab ketchup and mustard from another table. After we finished our meal, and again all 4 glasses were empty …finally our server again appeared. At his point, we just paid our tab. more

After my 5th visit, I can accurately say that if this place were not located in the mall, I would never come here. The food is decent, but overpriced, and the service is somewhere between absent minded and nonexistent. I keep expecting more though, because it really does have a great location and a pub-like, homey atmosphere. more

Great food and great atmosphere! more

The food is quite good here. I had no wait as I visited during lunch time. The staff was warm and accommodating, and we never felt like our servers disappeared, etc. \r \r The place is well decorated, and the bar is outrageous, with I would guess over 50 beers on tap. I don't think I would come watch a game here, as I prefer more of a "Flannigan's" type place for that. This place is a little to nice for a game.\r \r Here's the 'miss', the food took maybe 5-10 minutes too long to come out. When it did, the meats were luke warm and the fries ice cold-- seriously, like the grave. The wait staff was quick to bring out fresh fries, and we didn't return the meats because they were still somewhat warm and we didn't want to wait. Cold food seems to be common problem here (from the other reviews), they seriously need to work on that. Especially since it such an easy fix. 1. A good expeditor. 2. A dedicated food runner.\r \r Prices are a bit steep, but I'll give them another shot, as the food was pretty tasty. more

Great atmosphere and beer selection, plus really awesome burgers more

I like the beer selection, but the food was just average. My friend ordered a pizza and it came full of oil and had to send it back and get a burger instead. I would go back, but just to the bar. more

First off, I'd like to state that I'm a hostess at Yard House. I'm very offended by some of the reviews i've read here and certain people calling us "bimbos" and "Miami idiots". If you don't like the restaurant fine, but don't take it out on our hostesses. When we have a rediculously long wait, it's because people actually like the place and want to wait for it. When we tell you people aren't getting up from their tables and your wait may be longer than expected because of that, it's the truth and we're only just doing our jobs. We cannot force people to get up and leave. Personally I would love Yard House wether I worked there or not. We have fabulous food at rather low prices, great service and a wonderful atmosphere. Please note that all these bad reviews were from months ago when we had just opened. I urge all those who didn't like it before to try, try again! I'll see you at the front desk! Enjoy :) more

Fantastic. Amazing beer selection. Food is superb. more

I haven't had their food yet because I was distracted by their enormous selection of beers on draft. A must go for every beer enthusiast. more

Think of this place as a high-volume, slightly cooler Gordon Biersch. They have a ton a food options. From Korean BBQ to various other unusual options, it is a change of pace. \r \r However, the food will not win any awards. The kitchen is much more concerned with cranking out big plates fast, than actually serving great food. At last meal, rice was runny, chicken was red inside!? C'mon!\r \r Service is rushed, but acceptable. I've been here to eat and to hang out at the bar (GREAT beer selections). You get the overall feeling that you are being rushed. Rushed by the hostess, rushed by the bartender, rushed by the manager, rushed by the waiter. \r \r Do not write this place off, but it is not somewhere to come if you want to relax and chill and savor your food. It is more of a place you come to party with some friends and the food is more of an afterthought. more

Wow, little did i expect from walking into Merrick Park, that the prices on this menu are soooo great, aside from their 7.50 glasses of imported beers, and believe me they have allot of them, i believe 150 if i'm not mistaken. There food was fantastic, my waiter Greg, was super quick at taking and processing the order, Also this waiter suggested two fantastic beers i had never tried. The Orange Peel chicken was to die for! And my Girlfriend loved the 6 oz Steak! 2 thumbs up, 5 stars and a full stomach! Yes! more

The wait is worth it, this very upscale sports bar in the middle of Merrick park in Coral gables, however its well worth it, I have been here a couple of times and can I say it has become my new favorite place to drink and have a bite to eat. (sorry Sports Grill however your wings are #1). The beer selection is staggering and very good and affordable, and the food is top notch, both times I have gotten so full, I had to walk it off, you bigger men, know what I mean. The New York Strip Sandwich is HUGE so bring a appetite. more

Cool place but not worth waiting (2 hours is normal on busy nights) if the place is packed, which it gets on some nights (Thursday, Friday). more

Editorial review from Urbanspoon 9/26/2009

An upscale sports bar. I was awed by the large flat screen high def TVs that are all over the place. A long bar with draft taps wrapping around the middle is the center piece if the place. I thought the service was decent. The food was pretty good, a huge rack of smokey St Louis style ribs was probably the best dish we got at our table. I had the NY strip, in my quest for finding the best one in town, although it was good, I should've had a burger, wings or something. I'd go back to catch a sporting event, for sure. more

Service is horrible. The beer is awsome the food isn't bad but the staff is the biggest bunch of dueche bags I have ever met. From bitchy hostesses to snoby pushy waiters to bartenders who have mastered how to ignore someone. This is a first resaurant I refuse to go to based only on it's service. Make the drive to the wpb one and save the agrevation. more

Editorial review from Urbanspoon 8/28/2009

I stuck out the wait in the two hour line only to be disappointed by the quality of the food and service. The following day i came to realize that my waiter closed out another table's bill with my credit card (over $100 charge) along with changing his tip on my bill ($40 extra). The managers did nothing to resolve the situation when I brought it to their attention; they did not even apologize for the inconvenience. I had to have the bank refuse payment, Skip the line and go across the street to villaggio where you can eat cheaply and quickly and have great service. more

Came here because of friends, came early, so we actually got a table this time. Food was average. Got the same dish I did in Chicago, but it was much, much better there. It was also exceedingly loud, with everyone yelling to hear each other over the music. A few very happy drunks at the booth next to me didn't help the atmosphere either. With all the resturants in the area, I'd avoid this place. more

I've been to the YH several times, have taken clients there, have met with friends, and have had dinners with my hubby. The food is consistently great, fresh and well seasoned, the service is great and its always a great atmosphere. more

Editorial review from Urbanspoon 7/24/2009

When I visited this establishment I was confronted with a three hour wait, actually to be precise 190 minutes. Also the thirty or so people waiting outside were almost all already drunk, and most were in their twenties. It was THURSDAY... more

This is not a good place to watch a game at all. The food is ok if you can get a table. Very pretentious crowd. Really obnoxious bouncers. Go somewhere else to watch a game. more
