Xac Anthony Salon

My husband and I just moved into the neighborhood and tried Xac Anthony Salon and we're very happy we did! Being outer towners, its always nerve crazy!!! The salon proved NY (NOT) to be that of what you hear about New Yorkers. Super friendly and hospitable! Wine and other beverages seem to be a staple there as well as the music they play! We stop in from time to time just to say hello because they are literally 2 doors away. So, we know! My husband and I saw Xac for the cuts and we are set with our stylist! He is extremely polite, funny and talented (and handsome... sorry honey!!! Anyway, LOL!! the cuts are great!!! Thanks guys! I hope you like your review! See you on the block! more

I walked into this new salon on my block which took forever to open! Its a real sleek and an inviting environment, so, I had to be nosey! I asked the receptionist how much a haircut was and he said $95 to $125 for men but the only person available (because they opened the day before and the other stylist weren't starting til the week after.) was Xac the owner and he charges $125. I gagged! I asked Xac what makes you any different than my barber who charges $25? What, do you cut with diamonds and gold? He laughed and said, "Tell you what, I'll cut your hair and if you don't see a difference, I'll charge you $25 and you'll never come back again! If you are happy, then pay my asking price! I was like, yea right!!! He insisted! So, of course I did it...... First I want to apologize to Xac! You are truly an amazing stylist! For me to come into your salon and act like such an idiot was very distasteful and I am very sorry! I cannot believe this guy and the way he moves his hands, it was scary and amazing to watch! He used only scissors to cut my hair and yet he did this fade that only a buzzer can do! Of course I paid the full amount cuz I didn't want him to think I was just trying to get over! Besides, the guy really is worth it! I have to admit, I went back to my barber but was very disappointed in the end! I waited a month after my barber cut and went back to Xac. He immediately remembered me and said, what happened to your head? We laughed and he cut my hair. I was wowed again and even my friends notice the difference but think I'm crazy for paying so much. I don't care, its worth it! Xac baby, you are the bomb! Thanks for putting a whole in my pocket but my hair looks great! See you next month! Pros: A real honest salon!!!! In his new space Xac has arrived at his destination: Homemade Success! His talent has been undisputable for many years and his infallible haircuts have enhanced inumerous heads in town. I was at the Spa for the first time this month(July) and felt completely at home in the fabulously designed space. Beautiful colors and the most comfortable chairs were an added value for the hour I spent there. Anthony invites clients to experience a stress-free experience with a smile and great customer service. These guys are here to stay. I had a great time and can't wait for the next appt. I had been looking for a colorist in the city and had always had my reservations. One day, I was walking by and my dog decided to take a drink from the doggie bowl outside XacAnthony. Anthony ran outside and asked if he could give my pup a biscuit and we started talking hair. He had ultimately peaked my interest, so I went in for a consultation with Ariane. A couple of hours later, I left there with the best highlights I had ever had! Ariane is great with color - not only does she listen to what you want, but she definitely knows her craft. Xac cut my mother's hair last week and although she's a tough person to please, he made her one happy customer. All in all - it is a pleasure going there to get your hair done as the people are really friendly and know how to cater to their clientele and make them feel welcome. I was brought there by my aunt who had gotten her hair done there by Xac herself and her hair looked amazing, and I had been wanting to get my hair done for awhile and so she took me there. When I got there she introduced me to Jeanise who did my color and cut who was EXTREMELY nice to me and was so great. She was real gentle and I wasn't worried at all when letting her do my hair. Everyone else was also very nice, it's just a really great enviorment to be in and the quality of it is truly amazing. You end up walking out looking like your a movie star. Their staff is incrediable and their work matches their personalities all in the same. VISIT Jeanise, she's amazing at color! So I've been to a few salons in NY and was never 100% satisfied. I either didn't like my color/cut or the staff wasn't all that friendly. Coming to Xac Anthony Salon was my savior! My colorist was Jeanise and what a fabulous job she did! She is probably the best colorist I've had in the past 10yrs. Seriously!!! more

I walked into XacAnthony Salon & Spa looking for a colorist and was introduced to Jeanise!!! She is the best thing that has ever happened to me! She took her time to educate me on the condition of my hair and gave me several suggestions. The colorist i was going to was giving me these bleached out highlights that made my hair look and feel fried. She brought out four bowls and showed me what each one was and what they were all for. She also gave me a wonderful moisturizing treatment. I was able to see and feel the results right then and there. When all was done my hair felt and looked incredible. Now I have beautiful highlights with different tones that give it kind of a marblelized illusion. I feel like a beautiful woman. Pros: Everyone in the Salon was very friendly and welcoming. more

My intensive search and all the ways I looked for the right colorist, took me to one person - . Jeanise Aviles. I've spent years and years going to a ridiculous number of colorists trying to find the right person to color my hair the exact what I had always imagined. Not just blonde, but the perfect shade of Ash, almost white NOT brassy, not yellow and not gold. We spent the first 30 minutes of the hair appointment simply discussing my hair. No colorist previous had ever spent that much time trying to work with me to accomplish exactly what I wanted. She suggested protein treatments and various options to obtain the results I wanted yet still keep my hair healthy in the long run. Not only does she spent quality time with you before she begins the process, she makes you feel very comfortable and is very cautious/careful throughout the enitre process. From that day forward, I'm a loyal customer for life. I've had countless number of people stop me everywhere I go- in the street, on the subway, in Saks, out and about anywhere and ask me about my hair. I feel so fortunate to have such an amazing colorist and without her, I'd still be hopping around salon to salon trying to find the right blonde. Xac Anthony, as a salon, is a spectacular expierence. Everyone is extremely friendly, all smiles and found myself laughing and joking with everyone. Not exactly your usual salon expierence. I recommend it to everyone who inquires about my hair and where I get it done or salons in general. I couldnt say one bad thing about Xac Anthony's Salon and Jeanise. I look forward to going back every few months and out of all of the hundreds of salons I've been to in the past 7 or 8 years throughout the south and NY, Xac Anthony's has far exceeded them all. more

Never has the city seen such a superb hair establishment! Not only is the layout pleasing to the eye but also functional. While you are in a busy salon, the spacing and positioning of the stations affords a sense of privacy. Now let's get to the meat and potatoes of Zac Anthony. In my opinion and without exception, Zac is the most gifted cutter and stylist in NYC. When you meet him, you would never imagine that he possesses such genius. He is truly down-to-earth and a likable person, who puts his clients needs above everything. I highly recommend that you check out this establishment for THE haircut experience of your lifetime. Xac, (co-owner and stylist), has given me the best cut, color, and style I have ever had. Xac is so talented and passionate about what he does and it shows in his work and in the beautiful salon/spa he has created. I have found a stylist who really listens to the client and works with them to achieve the look they desire. The salon itself is so warm and inviting, as are the staff who greeted me when I entered, pampered me while I was there. My experience with Xac in the past has been trully eventful. I've been blabbing ever since! I recently sent my girlfriend in and she called me to let me know how incredible Xac is. We went out the other night and I coulnt beleive my eyes!! She had very curly and frizzy brown hair and then when I saw her, she had amazing hilights and an incrdible new cut!!! He flat ironed her hair and she looks amazing!! Her color, the layers, the shine!!!! My God! Sorry girl... I had to write this for you and everyone needs to know where to find Xac!!! This is trully a gift! She experienced everything I did. The wine, the music and the atmospher! She told me Xac took her to their roof top terrace to share a bottle of wine with Anthony and the three of them really had fun! She was his last client and she was so pleased to be a part of them winding dowm the day! These guys really know how to treat people in general and their hospitality goes far and beyond any salon she has ever heard of. Keep it up guys, Im sending my sister in!!! She will be Xac's test. I have been to many, I MEAN MANY Salons in NYC and let's just say I found my permanent SPOT. From the attention to detail of the new space, the attentive staff, and the quality of the stylists, this place offers it all! I am a VERY tough critic when it comes to technique and service, and this new salon blew me away. Many salons could care less about the details of greeting clients or offering them a beverage at entry, but this place does not miss a trick! The staff needless to say makes you want to stay longer and they have it all under one roof! You could get a cut and color, a mani/pedi or a fantastic facial, now what's better than all that packed in a very modern approach to a salon and spa??!! My stylist, (co-owner, Xack) uses his scissors in a way that I have never seen before and since (the many haircuts I have already received from him there) I have been a client of his, the compliments are pouring in...its worth every penny and I HIGHLY recommend them. A friend of mine just had the Japanese straightening and her hair is coarse and brittle...well not after this treatment...she has been to other salons that ruined her hair, not here...she found her new hair spot!
