Okay, so I feel a strong need to share this with the rest of the community. I recently applied for the dentist opening in one of Wynn's practices. All her questions that she had...

Editorial review from Citysearch 12/27/2012

I've been without a tooth for 2 years and I always felt that I should do an implant but always feared that it would be too costly. When I came to Wynn Dental for a cleaning 6 months ago, the doctor said that they have a specialist that does implants. So, after going over the finances, I decided to go for it. It was less expensive than the quote I got from another dental group in Monterey 2 years ago. Actually, significantly lower.\r \r So, fast forward 6 months, I am very happy with the implant and the crown. I can chew and chew. I would recommend this place. more

Okay, so I feel a strong need to share 6/2/2012

Okay, so I feel a strong need to share this with the rest of the community. I recently applied for the dentist opening in one of Wynn's practices. All her questions that she had asked me involved money. ""How much money do you make? What's the most you made in one day? How much do you charge for crowns, fillings, etc.? Are you good at selling stuff? You have to be a salesman to succeed and you have to put fear in patients' minds so they will give you all their money for their teeth."" I was very direct and I called her out on what she was saying. She immediately got defensive. ""If you don't produce a lot of money in this world, then you are worthless. You contribute nothing to society and you don't deserve to live."" I was shocked so I googled her practice and lo and behold, I found many patients writing about how they were swindled by her. Although it was a short 30 minute conversation, I feel I have a pretty good understanding of what Dr. Wynn is all about. Money. Yours. She wants it all. Don't give it to her. more

Horrible dentist save yourself money and avoid unneeded pain 5/8/2012

I feel bad that I have to give her one star, she doesn't even deserve that. My first encounter with Dr Wynn was when my wife went in for a consultation and told her she was having pain. Dr. Wynn didn't want to speak with my wife with me nearby which is very strange but I guess it is easier to scam one person than two. While I waited I watched a dog run out from the back of the office, the exam and procedure area mind you, and pee on the floor in the front waiting area. Ten minutes later I had to tell the receptionist that a dog peed on the floor and she just laughed about it. My wife was told that she needed an expensive root canal and that if we didn't act fast she might lose her tooth. We went ahead and ended up paying about $2500 out of pocket. At the time I thought it was fishy but I wasn't about to put my wife through pain or risk her teeth to save some money. After reading these reviews I know we were scammed, please don't give Dr. Wynn any more buisness! more

OUCH 4/4/2011

\r I am a single mom and I decided to take my entire family do see Dr. Winn that was a mistake. My children who had no cavities just 6 months before suddenly had cavities. Dr. Winn explained to me that my son had 16 cavities and they needed to be filled immediately and my daughter had 8. Then she told me what my insurance would cover and asked “how would I like to pay for the rest?” She wanted me to pay $7,500 out of pocket, what a shock. She spent the next 15 minutes telling me how much pain they would be in if it wasn’t done right away. I felt like a big looser. How could I let my kids suffer because I didn’t have the money. So I put it on my credit card. After all I trusted her I had been a patient several years and had a lot of work done. Until one of my crown fell out after 3 ½ years. She told me that she wasn’t responsible for it, after all she only guarantees for 3 years. Then I overheard her talking to her assistant about how she knew it was going to fall off for over two year and she was hoping it held out until her guarantee expired. That was it, integrity is important to me and it was something she was lacking.\r \r Now I wonder if my kids and myself have gone though unnecessary, extremely expensive and shotty dental procedures to help make her money, or if she is just not a great dentist? Either way I am gone.\r \r more

Looks are deceiving!!!!!!! 3/15/2010

I wen to this so call dental office because it looked fancy and like they would do a good job, heres the problem, even before i had my first appointment they never got back to me. i went on march 3 to inquire about extractions, i left them a copy of my insurance to see if it would cover the extraction, the receptionist said she would get back to me in 30 min. one week past and i called them back to inquire about my insurance no response yet, she said she would call me in 30 min, it has been another week and nothing. If it has taken them two weeks to figure it out i wonder how they do their procedures there, it is disappointing knowing that i lost two weeks in waiting for their call. Pros: none Cons: everything more

Looks can be DECEIVING!!! 11/16/2009

I am really being too nice with the one star rating!\r I went into doctor wynns office because of the free bleaching kit offered in one of her flyers that I got in the mail. i've really never had any dental cavities or gum issues. I lost my insurance some months ago and the price for a cleaning and exam looked reasonable, so I took a chance. I cancelled my appointment with my regular dentist and went into this awful office. At first I thought that the office was nice and had a spa type feel to it. But then my xrays, cleaning and exam were rushed and I was told that I needed huge fillings and a deep cleaning because I had gum disease.\r I panicked. \r They gave me this insane estimate and wanted me to schedule an appointment immediately.\r I did, but when I got home I called my regular private care dentist (not corporation) to for a second opinion and he told me that I was okay and that I certainly did not have gum disease. I did have a little cavity developing and that could be repaired with a small filling not the crown type dr. wynn recommended. \r It was a waste of money to even have bothered with that office. Later I discovered that she is known for this type of service.\r The comments left by 123salinas and Adraina sound more like the flyers I get in the mail and constant phone calls I get from them.\r \r the comments left by monicayouknow and working sound more like the real thing!!!\r PS I never did get that free bleaching kit because the receptionist said that I needed to complete all of the recommended treatment first.\r Pros: Office may look luxurious but it's filthy Cons: Pushy customer service ...really pushy! more

Just consider yourself warned 11/14/2009

Make sure you get the right estimate. Tell them to double check. You do not want to have a procedure done thinking you're going to be charge so much only to find out after the procedure that you need to pay more because they made a mistake on the estimate. Just beware. Pros: top technology Cons: bad costumer service more

Overcharging for sure!! 8/7/2009

$8000 plus estimate for the same work that two other area dentists priced at $5000 and $4300. Other dentist showed me plaque still on teeth 2 weeks after cleaning at Wynn. Also told x-rays would be free - insurance company was billed for the x-rays. Also $2000 was collected up front before work was began. Delta Dental told me that I should not have been asked to pay in advance for services. Now trying to get back some of my $2000. Wish me luck! Pros: Pretty office Cons: Ripped off, I'm quite sure. more
