The place is great!!! The people and trainers there are friendly and helpful. It is a very large facility with every kind of weight training, assistance or class available to every level. They are even opening up a new and bigger gym at the Westfield Mall. Check it out for yourself! more

This is a terrible company! You will NEVER be able to EVER cancel. Your bank account will contine to be charged, whether you move or even die. I made more than 10 attempts to cancel (by phone, email, certified letter and in person). I contined to be charged for a year after I moved away and had not used the membership. You can file reports with the BBB like I did, cancel the direct payments with your bank and then be sent to collections by World Gym. If you look up class action law suit on google you will find 100's, if not 1000's of people, dealing with the same issues! Consumer BEWARE! more

I found the complete opposite. I have been a member of world gym in palm desert for 7 years, and regrettably I moved out of the area and had to quit. It was not hard at all to cancel my membership. As a lawyer I understand and appreciate that the club wanted me to make sure I saw the right person, and was provided with written proof that i indeed cancelled. I have never posted a negative review before now. But the World Gym in Palm Desert, CA is one gym to stay away from! They act very unethically! I was talked into signing up for a month to month membership, which I was told I could cancel at anytime with 30 days notice. However, lo and behold, when I did ask to cancel a couple months later, due to continued medical problems that made most working out difficult, and the generally poor maintenance of the gym equipment and bathrooms, and exactly 30 days before my next billing period, they played all kinds of games saying that I had to talk to the operations manager in person -- but unfortunately he was not available! That my writing out a notice of cancellation was not good enough (even though in the contract that was all it says is requested) and that it would have to be sent certified and received 30 days in advance, which was of course now impossible -- and so forth. I left the club, immediately contacted visa and I am now in the process of disputing continued charges. But everyone should be aware how unethical this gym is. They have very slimy sales tactics and are always trying to talk people into joining -- very hard sell, but nothing necessarily wrong with this, except that they lie constantly about how one can end membership. There are multiple reports on the internet (look up ""complaints World Gym""}, and lawsuits have been filed against this outfit in other states, as far as I have been able to determine. So beware! Just as a side note -- I am currently disabled from an accident, which they knew about, and therefore I was very wary to make a commitment to any gym because my doctors did not want me to do any weight bearing exercise. Even with all this, they did not hesitate to try to swindle me! If you want to support ethical business practices -- do not give your business to this organization.
