I saw the news of this opening in the Register and thought I'd give it a try. Not sure what championships he's won, but clearly there wasn't any competition. Brisket was tough, dry and fatty, ribs were overcooked and had no smoke flavor, and the sides were terrible. For the money (it ain't cheap, folks!), I'll go pretty much anywhere else first before I'd waste money here again. Tasted like sugared up Cookie's BBQ Sauce to me; like the other posters said, it tasted like candy.
Pros: Right down the street from Uncle Wendell's. Does that count?
Cons: Too expensive for far subpar food.
