Woodkrest Custom Homes Inc

We had WoodKrest design our home - they did do a nice job on that - HOWEVER - we were taken advantage from that point - overcharged for subpar materials (some we have never seen, but paid for) - they act like they are the only purchaser of post and beam building materials in the USA and you can't buy them anywhere except from them (it all came from 84 Lumber) (WRONG - get them cheaper locally). We built our home ourselves - and over 4 years later - they still owe us about $10K - we'll never see it. If you have questions about this company - you can call us 740-967-0241 Pete and Kim Hill - WE DO NOT RECOMMEND USING WOODKREST. Nice people - but dishonest, and unreachable once they get all the money from you and are "supposed" to start delivering your building materials. Beware of doing business with them - it WILL happen to you too. more

Misrepresented products, missed deadlines, billigerant attitude and a set of prints that is not stamped for the state you will build in and cannot possibly be built to the plan provided. That's what I got for my $7500.00. Good luck, you'll need it. And, oh yes, they failed to even respond to the Tennessee Attorney Generals Inquiry. Check the records, the complaint was properly filed by me. more

In 2006 I started the design process with Woodkrest and had no problem with the dialog between us. They explained the process to me and I found it straight forward. Woodkrest accomodated me when I wanted changes and made helpful suggestions to smooth the way. I completed my project ( 1550 sqft prow front energy effecient ranch) in 2007 and couldn't be happier. more

How about refunding my money then WOODKREST? I only want my money back. That is only fair. You never showed me any plans... Just scribbles on a napkin. That does not constitute anything that would count as WORK. more

Good: We have bought 2 packages from Woodkrest and if we decide to move again our next home will also be a Woodkrest home. We were introduced to woodkrest by close friends that already had a Woodkrest home. We had been trying to design our home for 2-3 years with different designers without success. Within 2 months with Woodkrest, Bob Kress, had our plan on paper - we made a few changes but he was the first designer that listened to us. Both designsm packages, and comleted homes have exceeded our expectations.. Other: We highly recommend Woodkrest to anyone. We were able to build more home for less money.. more

Deposits are recieved prior to drafting custom homes. That is a standard with quality establised companies. When a client desides to cancel their order the work has to be paid for and that is agreed upon in the agreement before they give Woodkrest the deposit. more

Please do yourself a huge favor and do not do business with Woodkrest Custom Homes Inc.Memphis, Tennessee. They are very unscrupulous. Especially do not try to be come a dealer. We found out way to late that they could not be trusted and wound up loosing our $5k deposit (refundable) dealer deposit that was made almost 2 years ago and requested to be returned in writing 1.5 yrs ago. They fabricated charges that were not true, missed delivery dates and did not hold to promises they made. Several people have been lied to and disapointed by this company. Unfortunately the TN department of commerce would not get involved because this was a dealership venture, not just a purchase. more

If you deal with these people be very careful. Their "contract" reads very funny. You may end up like us, and apparently others. I say others because if you look at their BBB report and look up past lawsuits it looks like we aren't the only one's mislead by these people. To make a long story short they have our $5,000 and we don't have a full set of house plans. Yes, we could have hired a lawyer and spent even more money but we aren't made out of money and they knew it. We filed all the reports, did what we could, these people are......well you decide. more
