Wood Floors by Classic, Inc.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!! Two salesmen came to give me a price to sand and finish my floor, which included a fee for moving the bedroom furniture. I cleaned out 2 huge walk-in closets and 2 double closets in preparation. The day they were scheduled to come, 3 men arrived in a van that was painted, ""Bargain Flooring,"" not Classic Flooring that had been contracted. They obviously subbed the job out although the girl in the office swore they don't do that. The men were out the door in 15 min., refusing to move the furniture because it was, ""too heavy."" Having worked for a moving company, I told them that any piece can be moved if you take the drawers out. They wanted no part of the job. I spent the day on the phone with the company to no avail and had to deal with their nasty ""customer service"" representative. They wanted me to sign a disclaimer stating I wouldn't hold them responsible if they damaged the furniture. Seriously? I continuously asked for the owner to call and was continuously told he would. I'm still waiting. At 7PM another representative came to my home to see the job and see if they could do it the following day. He confirmed that the subs would not handle that kind of job for the money they would get from Classic. That was it. The company left me high and dry with the contents of my closets strewn around my living room and no one coming to do the job that they contracted to do. The furniture did not grow in that room. It was all there when the salesmen came and quoted the job. I am now sitting here in a mess trying to find a reputable company to do it quickly so I can put my bedroom back together. STAY AWAY FROM THEM!! They gave me nothing but grief and aggravation. This will end up costing me a good deal of money since I now have to do this job under duress because I have to get it done quickly. SHADY and SHODDY are the best words to describe this company. more

I used this company two weeks ago for sanding and finishing my living room and replace old laminate floor in the basement. They did a great job. The estimate was accurate and no hidden fees. They are very clean and professional, will defiantly use them again and recommend to friends and family. more

I hired this company abt 4 months ago....our floors and painting was done in our apartment in river dale. Great experience with the company & management; the workers were very polite & clean ..... I would definitely recommend them to work in your home or apartment!!! They speak both Spanish & English which is a plus for us!!! thanks again for a great job well done! more

\r The people at Wood floors by classic Hardwood Floors put the customer first. They have a lot of knowledge and will work with you to get your job done right the first time.Their representative Gil came to give the estimate and it was obvious he knows what he's talking about. Their price estimate was competitive than the 4 other quotes that I got for refinishing of the floors. The floors did require some extra work, but even then, the original time estimate was 6 days, but ended up being done in 3 days \r \r I would definitely recommend these guys to anyone. ! \r I love my new floors more

This is the worst flooring company I have ever worked with. Within 1 week of them refinishing my floor all of was lifting and buckling. They refused to do anything about it and blamed our floors. Strange, we have had our floors for more than a decade and never had trouble with them lifting. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! more

I will never recommend this company to anyone, anyone in my building, nor anyone looking for a floor company. The company was very professional in the beginning, but when they came to do the floor, did not complete it as wood is still sticking up. The company is impossible to contact and they do not follow up as they state. I found this to be a very unprofessional company, Lisa states that she will get back when they will complete the job; Richie fights with the customer on completing the job properly. The company still has not completed the job after over two months. more

Wood Floors by Classic - EXCELLENT, PROFESSIONAL ORGANIZATION... We were very impressed with the complete service we received from this organization - starting with Eric a courteous, knowledgeable individual who came to our home, understood what needed to be done and gave us a very reasonable estimate. Then there is Lisa - she worked with us to set a date that would work with our schedule and made sure to follow-up once the work was done. Now let's talk about Humberto who made our floors and stairway look better than new - a true artist of his trade! We are very pleased with all the work done in our home and highly recommend this company. more

i did the job 2 weeks ago i didnt want to do it for years i did not want to do the job didnt want a messy house but in the end i had to do it due to the floor condition it was a must i was extra surprise to find out that its not that messy and my floors came out so nice , im so happy more

I had Wood floors by classic do a big job for me at my NY apsrtment in NYC, i was out of the states at this time and i ahd communicated with them by email and phone - the girl at the office Lisa was very helpful with updating me on the status of the work and the timeframe for the job that was as scheduled. more

This is one of the best companies I've seen in the home improvement field. From the get go it was a pleasure dealing with great sales people that knew exactly what they are selling and actually had flooring experience, to the great customer service with very friendly office staff. the workers were fast neat and very professional that resulted in a great looking flooring job. I will definitely use them again for all my flooring needs and would highly recommend them to anyone who is about to do any flooring. more

I had these guys come to my home and had a great experience from start to finish ! They gave me a free estimate which was great and then finished the work on time like they promised in order for me to move into my home ! They were fast and clean and that was a big plus ! in hired them right before the holiday they came to give me an estimate then they made an appointment right before the holiday i had 5 workers very polite came in to my house and sanded the floor i LOVE IT i got so many compliant on the floor from my family thanks i will use you again in the further more

Jeez, it's amazing that scam artists like this even exist in the age of the internet, but I suppose they will continue to perform horrifically shoddy work and collect their fees until they are shut down -- which I am trying to do through the Better Business Bureau. There are tons of other complaints filed, thankfully. They installed hard wood floors in my kitchen and used seriously flawed wood. It warped and buckled within a few months of installation. Several contractor friends were in utter shock at the scam -- use 'used' or defective wood and act as if the customer had a flood and accuse the customer of lying about it. Very simple -- and they got away with it. Put all the blame on the customer and just ignore their useless and bogus warranty. Three separate attempts to have them repair the situation failed. The bottom line is, if you hire them, you will be in for a world of hurt. There is 'John' who sells the services and 'Eric' who owns the company. Not a word of truth comes out of their mouths. The website looks professional, so it's easy to be fooled. It's actually a very small company with only three or four employees. They are 'normal' enough until the job is done -- and then any attempts to rectify their shoddy workmanship is met with contempt, evasion, or additional lies. Their workman (a young South American) even stole an item out of my apartment. Since it was only a phone charger, I didn't really care -- but it sure is a significant indication of the company. Call a more reputable firm -- or you will regret it. Any well-known flooring company will do a better job. This place is very, very bad news. more

We decided to use this company after a consultation with a salesman. While we were skeptical using someone we didn't know, we went ahead because of the promise of using of a machine that picks up 90% of the dust. (was shown a picture of it too) Upon returning home, we found that there was an exorbant amount of dust. We asked the workman if that machine was used and they said no. When I called the company, I talked to the guy in charge who said they used a dustless machine. So one was lying--- I am sure you can guess who. After much interrogation by my husband the truth came out--- they are not allowed to use that machine in NYC. I understand a little dust but this seems like a really bad buisness practice. All we would have wanted was the truth! Not too much to ask. By the way, to be fair, the floors look good. more
