Overall good experience 1/21/2014

Winchester Transmission & Services were very thorough and kept me informed. It's been a month and a half since they rebuilt the transmission and the work seems to be very good. It was more expensive than I thought it was going to be so I felt a bit of sticker shock. more

Absolutely the best mechanics 12/19/2013

Winchester Tranmission has got to be the most honest and reliable group of mechanics I've found. They're straightforward and tell you the real deal instead of charging you with the most expensive options. They just treat you like a human being and work with you on a level that feels real and trustworthy. They let you make your own decisions and respect whatever your needs you happen to have. I appreciate how accommodating they are. I've been going to Winchester Transmission for about two years and have no reason to switch places. They have repaired minor oil leaks to rebuilding my transmission and I'm currently saving up to have them rebuild my engine. I don't think you could find more competent and considerate workers. more

Before I found Winchester Transmission & Services on the Internet, somebody had already worked on my transmission. They did not do a good job. I had problems whenever I wanted to go out of town. I found Winchester, called, and talked to Patrick. He told me about the warranty that they have. I took it to them for a look, they fixed it, and I haven't had any problems since. more

Winchester Transmission & Services worked on our transmission, only doing the work that was really necessary. The pricing was very competitive. They provided good customer service. We have only been in once so far, but we do have other cars that we plan to take there. more

Good! 9/20/2013

I had problems with my car and I couldn't find anyone to fix it. I thought it was my transmission. When I went to Winchester Transmission & Services, they found that it wasn't my transmission; it was something else. They fixed it and the problem is gone. The people there were friendly. You should try them because Patrick is a really good mechanic. more

Winchester Transmission & Services did a transmission repair for me. I'm going to take it back to them soon. I noticed an exhaust leak and I think it is coming from the area where they disconnected the exhaust. Maybe they didn't tighten it properly. I will say that the person that I met with was a very pleasant person. more

Honest, competitive rates, good work. 5/3/2013

I went in there after going to another place. They quoted me $2300 for a new transmission. I went to Winchester for a second opinion, they said they would take a look at it. They called me back an hour later, and said I only needed a washer. $400 and I was out the door and good to go. I find them very honest, and I have been bringing my and my family's cars there ever since. I highly recommend them to friends and people who I meet with car problems. They tell you the cost before they do the work, and if anything comes up they call you back right away. more

I picked them because they were close to my house. They took my car in and completely rebuilt the transmission. It's exactly what I wanted done to it. They did a good job and I'm very happy with it. more

Before saying the transmission was the problem, they were willing to investigate the problem in order to give me an accurate diagnosis. I couldn't have had a better experience. I was very pleased with them. 1/16/2013

This time was my first time going there. I went on the recommendation of the AAA driver who came to tow my car when the clutch broke. He told me he'd used them before. They fixed it quickly, and found a second thing that was wrong that they fixed too. The price was reasonable and they did it fast. They even did a few other things they didn't charge me for, like I was low on oil and they added a quart for me. They maintained good contact with me, and let me know what was going on and when it would be done. It was ready to go when I got there. more

I was really happy with Winchester Transmission & Services. I found them on the internet, looking for a service close to where I live. I needed transmission work done on my Saturn. I felt very comfortable dealing with the folks there. I took my car in to have it looked at, and brought it in the next day and got it back the same day. I was impressed with how they helped me through the process. They gave me a ride to the bus station. Coming away from that experience made me feel like they care about their customers. more

They were absolutely fantastic. We brought in a Ford Explorer that had a lot of transmission work needed. They diagnosed everything well, gave us a fair price, and the work turned out great. They were honest and a great company to work with. more

They are wonderful. Really great. Ally was great. My husband was stranded with our work truck in the Santa Cruz mountains. I made one phone call to Winchester Transmission & Services, and they provided me with a tow service, since it was difficult to get one out there to the summit. I also told him now we're out of a business and asked if he knew someone with a truck for rent. My son went to a rental place across the street and was quoted two-times as much for a truck, but Patrick made a call for us and asked someone to give us a break since we were out of business. We got a truck for cheaper, they did our repairs, and in two days, we were back in business. He's great. I've been passing out their card. They did excellent. The problems got fixed. 8/24/2012

I had a transmission oil leak and I took my car to Winchester Transmission & Services. They fixed the leak. I'm ok with that. However, they told me the cost would be $740 to $840 and they ended up charging me $1469. I don't know anything about cars so when they told me what work needed to be don, I let them go through with it. I thought everything would be fine but when I picked up the car it had a problem that was not present when I first dropped it off. The car would make a loud, motorcycle kind of noise when I turned it on. The shop was closed when I picked up the car so I had to return later to get that noise problem fixed. Once I returned and had them check out the problem they told me that the manifold had a hole in it and had to be replaced. I had them go ahead with that because I wanted the problem fixed. It cost almost $600. I have the original manifold with me and I took it to three different shops to ask how it is that a manifold gets a hole in it and they all told me that manifolds last a very long time and that it was not possible for that to have happened. Another reason why I originally took my car in is because the "Check Engine" light was on. They told me it was a computer problem and it would cost about $500 to fix. When I got home I told my nephew about that light on the dashboard and he was able to get it to turn off in about 8 minutes. Anyway, everything got fixed. more
