Bargain children's clothing - great selection 4/10/2008

Located in an old brick mill building on Route 9 in Ware (a few miles down the road from the main entrance to the Quabbin), this place has great stuff at good prices. In addition to an amazing array of baby shoes, toddler shoes, Christening outfits, crib sets, raincoats, winter jackets, etc. they also have a small selection of stuff for teens and adults too (Columbia outerwear). The prices are good but the selection, variety, and quality of the stuff they carry is excellent - far better than the chain stores. They've been around since at least the mid-1970s. An additional plus is the blanket factory in the same complex, where thet can personalize blankets of all sorts ( mainly fleece). There's plenty of parking, but there is a flight of stairs you'll need to climb to get in the main door, which means a stroller might be difficult to get in there. Pros: Best variety of kids clothing anywhere Cons: Not near any major city but on a major route (Route 9 west) more

  • In Short
Boomerangs, Aussie flags, kangaroo portraits and faux aboriginal art honor the homeland's wilderness, but Outback delivers a polished version of rusticity with varnished blond-wood booths with matching wainscoting and casually uniformed waitstaff. Besides more than a half-dozen cuts of steak, diners can pick from large-portioned entrees like ribs, chops and shrimp or chicken "on the barbie." The Bloomin' Onion, a large onion dipped in batter and deep-fried, is an appetizer with a following.
