After periodontic services were provided, I learned that the charges were well above what my insurance would cover because Dr Sorensen's fees are much higher than typical for periodontists in the area. Unfortunately, I did not learn upfront that the fees were in excess of my insurance coverage due to his staff making a sizeable error when they provided an estimate of my out-of-pocket expenses.
I followed up with Dr Sorensen's office, protesting their error in cost estimating, but was told that they would take no responsibility for the error. As a result, I switched to another periodontist and am now receiving excellent care at an affordable cost. Unless your dental insurance covers charges well in excess of market rates for periodontic services, I suggest you choose a provider other than Dr Sorensen.
